Dan's old yugioh videos on the toys channel where he mentioned the tag force series is what got me (back) into yugioh, many years ago at this point. And now here we are in the year 2023, where I'm playing modern yugioh on one monitor and watching dan open LoB packs on the other

I can't believe he pulled the ghost rare galaxy-eyes photon dragon AND he forgot that he owns the giant card version of it that I gave him on the book signing too lol

It’s surprising how many of them have names that for some unknown reason weren’t translated from the original Japanese. To name a few, “Umi” just means “Ocean”, “Hitotsu-me Giant” means “One-Eyed Giant”, “Hinotama” means “Fireball”. I guess they thought it would sound fancier?

A lot of old Yugioh had English based names in Romaji for the original Japanese cards so instead of keeping them English they translated them back into Japanese for the English cards. So it was still for the sake of sounding foreign I think, I'm just saying it started in Japan is all. For example Hitotsu-me Giant's name in Japan was cyclops and Hinotama was just named fire ball.

Legend of the Blue Eyes White Dragon was the set that added polymerisation, so yes you might get fusions, but poly was super rare so I doubt you could pull it off from this set. It took Dark Beginnings 1 for that to change(2 years later) which made it a common.
