@@chrisk920 Well, in the Czech Republic the acceleration itself isn't limited, so you can use it pretty much anywhere. Noise is not an issue with Tesla either. Of course, the quality of the roads is a different matter. There aren't too many good enough to fully enjoy this, plus the speed limit is always a factor (sadly, no road segments with no speed limit like in Germany, I so wish we had those here).

Most fellow Americans I know assume that there are no speed limits on German autobahns. Not true. There are unlimited sections but there are also many speed restricted sections so it is up and down up and down. German law requires you to ensure you have enough fuel (and now battery reserve?) when driving on the autobahns. And, if you have a breakdown you are required to post your warning triangles immediately. That is usually a tipoff that the “disabled” car up ahead on the side of the road is a camera car because they never put out the triangles. (Camera car = getting flashed = speeding ticket).

165 MPH isn't bad, but it's a long way from phenomenal. My C7 ZR1, with the ZTK option, will do 215 MPH and I can fill it with gasoline in a couple minutes versus having to plug it in and let it charge for hours. Btw, my neighbor has a Tesla Plaid and its battery failed, wouldn't take a charge, and Tesla wouldn't repair it under warranty since he raced it at a 1/4 mile track. He said they were happy with his ET's, however. I thought he was joking but he was serious and showed me the paperwork stating repair was not covered under the warranty due to "competitive use".

@@cassiespencer6134 The acceleration is insane, top speed could be better yes. The charging argument is becoming obsolete tho, It's really not that bad as people pretend it is, especially thanks to the super chargers. I was against electric cars but the company switched to full electric so we had to make the swap. And here we are, I never have to stop at a gas station anymore unless I'm going on holiday. I just charge it where I park it and when I'm back, it's fully charged and ready to go.
@cassiespencer6134
@cassiespencer6134 Жыл бұрын
@@ghostrider_2005 It's the charging aspect I'm not thrilled about. That said I'm primarily referring to the need to charge when on a road trip for example since doing so takes substantially more time than refueling. That said the performance aspect, depending on make/model, can be spectacular. However, what I'm even more concerned about is charging time, especially given a nearly drained battery. And I say that for a couple of reasons: One being my neighbor who had a Tesla S Plaid and the Tesla in home charging system which ended up killing the battery during a re-charge. HOWEVER, that was after he had set very good ET's at the 1/4 mi track> he drove it home and parked on the Charging pad in his garage. And the next morning when he went to go to work it wouldn't "start". The battery was dead and wouldn't take a charge. So he ended up having in flat bed towed to the Tesla dealer who informed him it was not covered by warranty due to racing. THAT SAID what almost made me LOL was when he told me they had all of the data with regard to ET's, temps, you name it. However, he said they were "happy" with my ET's (the car recorded everything) and even seemed excited about it. That is UNTIL he was informed that since it was driven in a "competitive manner" at a 1/4 track they couldn't repair it under warranty. So he had to pay for a new battery and labor. Btw, I didn't ask what that did to the piggy bank.

It's a beautiful car regardless of the ridiculous "steering wheel." Elon Musk will be remembered as Einsteain was, and rightfully so. Many of us just don't see it yet, and we let politics get in the way. His work on reusable rockets and his push towards a self-sustaining civilization on Mars is next level genius. He may just be the key to man kind if the world experiences another cataclysmic event. God bless

Hahahahaha. No way he would be useful in a cataclysmic event, he is good at manipulating the stock market and a genius at marketing. He's no brilliant engineer, only a guy with money who is ruthless in making other people do their jobs. None of his ideas were original. If he will be remembered like Einstein may be so, after all, there is no direct correlation between actual intelligence and fame.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the matter. While Elon Musk is undoubtedly a brilliant entrepreneur and visionary, I have to agree with you that his expertise may not necessarily translate to being useful in a cataclysmic event. It's true that his success lies more in marketing and manipulating the stock market than in actual engineering. It's also worth noting that there are many factors that contribute to a person's fame and legacy, and intelligence is just one of them. While Musk may be remembered like Einstein in some respects, it's important to recognize that this comparison may not be entirely accurate.

@Pablo He I pushing towards a self-sustaining civilization on Mars. If he gets the ball rolling and the earth is once again wiped out, he will have saved the human species. Slightly over your head, I assume.

@@PBRRoughStockRanch It's not that I don't know that, it's just that I don't see that being realistic at all, at least in our lifetime. No way we can survive being bombarded by space radiation for more than a few weeks, and that is just one issue. I consider him a hype man, more than half of what he has promised hasn't happen and likely won't happen. Or are you also convinced by the moronic idea that is the Hyperloop?

1:00 I can tell right away that I dislike the steering. That's way too much movement for such small turns. Every bit Super Bike performance 😁 8:00 Here's were you start to depart from sanity.
