I always like seeing the similarities and differences between multiple people who have played the same character and appreciating what different performers contribute to a role, especially for live theatre, where you can have so many people play a character across many years that a show is running, and across multiple productions of the same show. Until yesterday I had no idea the 20th Broadway Anniversary was coming up. But this will be a time for me to celebrate. "Defying Gravity" may be the song, out of all the songs there are, that touches me the most. Because Elphaba describes how she reaches a turning point that I am still struggling to get to. It's not that I want to turn my back on society entirely, just for the price of emotional independence, but I sure hope to become way more confident about being okay the way I am, and not valuing other people's opinon on myself so high anymore. Being afraid of losing love you have actually already lost is indeed not a nice feeling. Thank you Mr. Schwartz for this most beautiful and meaningful song.

Just saw this a couple days with U/S Lissa Deguzman as Elphi. She was effin' amazing! So beautiful and so true to the soundtrack I studied for 20 years before I made it out to Broadway. Mckenzie was the absolute highlight of the show, much to my chagrin (only because I was always an Elphaba fan via Idina). The entire cast was effing amazing. I loved you all. I cried so many times watching this (mainly out of "quest completed" syndrome of finally getting to see it on Broadway after 20 broke years of trying). Thank you for a phenomenal, unforgettable experience. I hope you all have amazing careers! Especially Mckenzie and Lissa.
