Just for future reference, the articulating axle in the back locks up if you’re not lowered and centered basically rendering the 4wd useless. Awesome job on all the recoveries though!

just a fyi when that boom lift is elevated or extended out it puts it out of transport mode witch slows the speed down.

Some of those machines won’t use 4wd unless you are fully retracted and the main boom down to a low enough point. I’ve seen people have trouble getting them out and I’ve learned that the hard way.

@ToddKortenhoven 8 ай бұрын
Do your self a favor a learn how some of this equipment works. That front tire is spinning because the boom is not centered over the machine and the boom is extended. If the boom is fully retracted, centered and lowered with the jib raised it will be in 4 wheel drive with full power also the rear axle will unlock and articulate. Probably could have got it out after 5 minutes pull and plywood.

Matt, what kinda air pressure do you run out there in the mud?
@matt.mckinzie
@matt.mckinzie Жыл бұрын
Air pressure won’t matter in that clay It’s super sticky and slippery But we run 30psi and we don’t deflate often We have deflate auto caps to drop to 12 psi and an air compressor But it takes 20-25 minutes to air back up and 2 minutes to winch out if we get stuck 5 minutes on sand if we have to throw a pull pal So if we are heading out for a single job we don’t air down If we plan on running the beach for several hours then we will

It helps a lot in sand But gotta weigh out the pros and cons Airing down takes a time and so does airing up We are running a rather large tire that’s pretty wide so airing down isn’t required but still makes a difference

I really have a hard time understanding folks who see a 4WD decal on a street vehicle and don't comprehend that does not necessarily equal "off-road mudder". If it doesn't have transfer cases or limited-slip diffs, you probably don't need to be going onto "seriously deep/slippery stuff."
