The final leg of the 30th anniversary tour took place on April 27, 2014 at Hall A of the Tokyo International Forum, and the three-hour performance was truly outstanding! Mari was 50 years old at the time.🤘 Guest guitarist was Akira Takasaki (LOUDNESS)💪🤘 Mari is an absolute queen, LOVEBITES Asami is called a princess❤🤘 Chris and Sam, thank you for your always positive reactions.👍🐺

This is the first artist i got from japan rock/metal in the 90's. and it made me start to look at this some years back agen and then discover a "new world" of music and then se a lot of ppl discover them later on.

Whoa! I don't believe any reactors now interested in reacting to this living legend. 60 years old and going strong, Mari, who is dubbed "Heavy Metal Queen of Japan", has literally so many amazing songs in her entire career. I am her fans for so long and so happy that you can experience her awesomeness. She has just released a new album 'Soar' last year, you can react to her single 'Tomorrow Never Dies' or 'Black Rain', the single from her previous album. Many thanks for the reaction!! PS: Yes, the backing vocal lady is Eri Hamada, Mari's sister. She's literally with Mari throughout her career. And the scarier part is... I think Eri has a more wider vocal range than Mari 😅

Yeah. Mari Hamada sebetulnya pernah memulai debutnya di Amerika th 80'an. Tp kurang beruntung. Saat itu th 80an di Amerika banyak penyanyi² bagus.

@@dens660 betul sekali, wrong timing sepertinya. Album internasionalnya cuma berisi lagu2 pop rock dan ballad saja, tidak mengedepankan potensi penuh Mari sebagai penyanyi metal.

Mari is considered the queen of Japanese metal. Seeing her live is certainly on the bucket list. She has often performed with Akira.

Loved Mari's vocals she has a great set of lungs on her. Also loved the guitar from Akira Takasaki, guitarist with Loudness. Akira co-founed Killer Guitars, the most well known (at least for me) user of these is SAKI of Nemophila. I have seen videos of Nemophila playing live with Akira as a guest, and it was great seeing him duet with SAKI and Hazuki in turn

This is mother of all conteporary metal and rock Japanes female vocalists like Asami, Saiki, Mayu, Suzuka Nakamoto, Yukina and more ....😎 This song it is masterpiece. Yes and on guitar Akira Takasaki guitar virtuoso from heavy metal band Loudness and father such young guitarists like Miyako, Midori , Kanami, Saki, Hazuki, Syu, Leda Cygnus, Takoyoshi Ohmura, Yuki and more....😮

Thank you for the watch and taking my recommendation!! That is Eri switching parts. Mair's vibrato was always very strong. There are vids of her vocal range just going higher and higher. "In the precious Age" she sings acapella about 5-7 parts, and she can also go pretty low! Her Tomorrow album (my #1) was produced with Steve Luthaker in L.A. Blue Revolution, Promise in the History, Rainy Blue are great 80-90's hits.

Another classic metal band from Japan that have played for 4 decades is ANTHEM. The just dropped a live video with the song Wheels of Fire.

Terrific reaction! I am a 75 year old Japanese, and have been Hamada's fan since the 80s, and feel she deserves to be called the Japanese Queen of metal. She writes lyrics to all her songs, and her sister (Eri) as you correctly identified is the back up singer even though she can hold her own as a solo artist. Although she spends a lot of time in LA (she has recorded most of her recent songs there) she rarely performs outside of Japan which is why she is not well known abroad. As some have pointed out, Boh and Isao from the Eastern Kami band have been with her for close to ten years. (Note: I am a huge BABYMETAL fan) Also, she always performs with a very talented band! Check out "Mari Hamada Live Tour 2012 "Legenda" - Momentalia. You'll get a little more of Eri too. I missed going to Hamada's 40th Anniversary Concert (age 62) in Japan last autumn, but look forward to the Bluray. In the meantime, you should definitely check out her latest MV = Tomorrow Never Dies.

I'm glad you chose her. She is one of Japan's leading songstresses, with a stoic spirit that transcends her own limits even as she grows older, and a rare talent. She has a wide variety of songs, from a cappella ballads to pop to intense high-tone metal, as she is active as a solo artist. I think the main thing about her is her catchy melody and singing skills. Since she incorporates various genres, the band members are all talented in both live performances and recording! The current members include members of the Kami Band, and Billy Sheehan was there at the Budokan performance. Personally, I feel that the aspects of Japanese songs that I love are not well received overseas, but I look forward to seeing reactions to other songs!!

The backing vocalist is her younger sister Eri Hamada.　The guitar player is Akira Takasaki, a Japanese rock guitarist. At that time, Mari Hamada and Akira Takasaki were both over 50 years old.

There are quite a few videos of Mari and her sister on KZbin going back to I think when Mari was around 17 and earlier last year she did some dates in the US with I think a couple of numbers from the Eastern KAMI BAND and other well-known musicians from Japan as well I think there might be some videos for some of those shows as well
