Offshore Monster PB surprise and Mutton Snapper Techniques

Headed out of St Lucie Lucie inlet to fish offshore of Florida's Treasure Coast. The target species was Mutton Snapper and after a slow start I caught some nice one's. I also caught a surprise Monster PB which is pound for pound one of the best fighting fish. What an amazing day out there, Wayne. Really enjoyed this one. You never know what you will catch fishing in the ocean. Some good looking snapper, Jack, sailfish and shark. Awesome Jack he had you doing laps. Congrats on the PB. Loved that release. Nice snappers. I tried out a boat similar to yours week before last. It's a nice boat but at 40 degrees with a cold wind it just wasn't comfortable till it warmed up. Doubt that is an issue for you down there. 👍

Thanks I appreciate that!! Torium 30 with 30lb Ande mono. I’ve had that reel forever. Workhorse of a reel. Shimano Speedmaster 16 with 60 pound spiderwire blue camo. Best reel for the money. Silky smooth drag. Talica 20 with 80 pound diamond braid. Put the breaks on anything.

What kind of boat is that is it a bay boat or like a classic Mako?

It’s a 1997 Sea Pro 190 CC. Built like a small offshore boat more than Bay style but it does have a shallower V. It handles very well for its size offshore and gets real skinny with the trolling motor. Good little all around boat. I will be upgrading to a 24-26 foot hybrid next year.
