Hammerhead Shark crushes the flat line | Treasure Coast Reef Fishing Adventures

We headed out of St Lucie Inlet on Florida's Treasure Coast for the first time in nine weeks for some Offshore Reef Fishing adventures. The conditions were amazing but the full moon and strong current produced a tough bite. We stayed positive and worked hard to put together a decent day. Casey wanted to eat some fresh Sashimi and we lucked out catching a Rainbow Runner which is very underrated. He prepped it and it was absolutely amazing. We also caught a Hammerhead Shark that crushed the flat line, Amberjack, and of course the targeting species MUTTON Snapper. I review the best rig you can use for Mutton Snapper. www.balloonfisherking.com I add my own heavy duty bank sinker clips. I don’t let them sit right on the bottom so haven’t lost any. I’ve only lost two when reeling in really big fish but you won’t lose your entire rig like you normally would. It’s a great product. Appreciate you watching

Absolutely great reel for the money. The drag is silky smooth. Make sure you rinse good though as I started getting a little bubbling in one spot. I just bought a Talica 20 for Grouper season.

A hammerhead shouldn’t need a “slow day” to be an acceptable catch IMO, other than a tuna or marlin you aren’t getting a better fight than a pissed off hammerhead.
