55 year old 3531 MOS Marine.. HMMV was fairly new to the Motor Pool when I went through school. We learned them inside and out to include a special fording pool.. The water was cold as hell so naturally they made us buckle up to "enjoy" the experience. The water was up to my neck and it forded fine. Later on in my travels, the Hummer was a notorious POS, always breaking down. Later in life I contracted with SOCOM and the SF in Afghanistan..The SF in my AO struggled for a few years with the armored versions and managed to make due until the MATV came along and it was a game changer! Your hummer would make a great range truck! Im sure you will make it look cool! Id name it POS 2.0 carry on with the great content!

Considering the kind of abuse and lack of proper fleet maintenance, it's fully understandable that the military fleet of HMMV's was no longer optimal after a few years of (ab)use on base and in the field environments (training operations, and/or from actual combat conditions.) The civilian version would also have to meet DOT/NHTSA safety standards.

I only ask that people realize the HMMWV was intended to replace the M151, not the M113. It was fine until the military put a ton of armor on it that it wasn't designed for. It would've been a minor miracle if they didn't start breaking down afterwards, if they put that much weight on a M151 I doubt it would move at all.
