Matt, I think you can do the B&B and use an old food truck as a temp kitchen. B&B Thursday afternoon thru Sunday. Continental breakfasts, no lunch service figuring that people are often gone during the day, limited menu for dinners. When guests register, they're given menu options for dinners to choose from in advance. That way the cooks can accurately prepare for meal service. The food truck would be cheaper than building a dining hall.

Seconding this - I made the food truck comment on the last video. It actually would serve multiple purposes. Some food trucks are very item specific - others, such as those at events like motorcycle rallys, do everything from breakfast to snacks, full meals, and late night munchies. This would be ideal for the campers and for all the events that should be taking place on the range(s).

@@BarqueCat1 I'd suggest that he purchase a food truck instead of hiring in food trucks. Food trucks need a lot more than just a few guests to make it worthwhile for them. If he were to get a truck, that would stay on site. And because they'd only be serving guests and not the general public, he shouldn't have to go through all the health dept/regulatory hoops either.

We re-sheeted a building a couple years ago that had those brittle screws. It was a pain for sure. We broke off the plastic heads off most of them and unscrewed the screws with a big Phillips tip. However sometimes that didn’t work for us. So we used a grinder and cut some of them off, but we also just used vice grips and hand-unscrewed them. It took some time to say the least. We got it done in the end, so I believe you will too!

If this is your admin building don't forget the server/telecom room. You could probably get away with a small wall mounted IDF if you don't intend to have too much network equipment. Unless you have a small room that could work for the telecom room. Then you could set up some legit racks and pull all the data, access control or audio/video equipment for the building depending on how you decide to set use this building up.Maybe if this is central to other buildings you can have your main distribution equipment here and then run fiber to other buildings to feed switches. Also does the building have an MPOE?

@stanshearer7343 8 ай бұрын
I have to really do an update. With the metal framing and roof trusses, there is no real need for the bracing. I didn't remember the frame when I made my comment. It would be true to need bracing if it was an entire wood frame. With the metal I beams and the wood attached to them, the bracing is unnecessary, in my opinion. Mia Culpa!

This even works on the stupid torx security stuff because you simply can't beat physics - once something sticks, something else turns! edit: 2:18 Shows the weird edge pretty good, I think I get it now. I don't know if you've tried this already, but a wide straight slot screw bit might work in those heads if it doesn't strip out. I encountered those screws years ago. They are a proprietary screw that came with a unique bit to screw them in. We brought that issue up about how would you remove them with the salesman. He assured us the plastic was uv and heat resistant. It will hold up for a hundred years is specifically what he said. We encountered them in around 1995. We used them on one small wall so ge would shut up. That building was torn down a couple of years ago so i have no clue if they took the walk sheets off. I doubt they did it peacefully lol

I think you should look at camping and glamping options, yurts etc! You won’t need to worry about food! You would just need to get your shower/loo block done!

It may be harder than you think to get some used telephone poles. Perhaps it's different down in Texas, but up in NW Wisconsin, my father encountered a crew that was replacing an old pole, and asked if he could get the old pole. They told him that he could get it, but ONLY if they CUT it in half first. That kind of defeated the purpose for which he wanted to use it for. It was clearly worn but was still good enough to be used again for our project. We got the pole in 2 pieces.

All that pink aerolite in the Building still looks good. And i don't know if you could reuse plywood walls... Like get a wood chipper, turn them into sawdust and use that sawdust as a type of mulch

Amazing progress in this video! Going to be spectacular to have at least one fully functioning building in the near future! Oh and Angel.... when hanging on something you expect to pull down, probably a bad call to lift your legs up in front of you. RIP to your spine. Glad you weren't hurt bad.

As for the telephone poles, you can try calling your local power company or garbage company, or whoever is providing your local power company wirh poles and ask if you can purchase scrap poles. Treated poles are considered hazmat, unless they're untreated cedar poles. So they might just refuse. But worth a shot. Orher options would be just felling some trees on the property and using those. Rhey would last a few years before needing to be replaced. Or maybe use railroad ties though they may not be tall enough or treated timbers from a lumber supplier.

Find a logger in the area that will bring you a load of nice, straight pine logs. You can preserve the in-ground portion of the logs by charring them a little bit with a propane weed burner.

For the future, a set of twist sockets for rounded boltheads can be very helpful in unscrewing such bolts with a plastic head.
