im a huge wings fan and it was sad to see him go but i dont hold anything against him. he did so much for the wings and helped them win 3 cups. hes a great player and is free to go wherever he wants but it did suck to see him go

Agreed. I loved Sergei, and I would love to see either happen. Even though after '98 he seemed to be the Wings' scapegoat, and like many others I hated to see how he went out, but the guy did whatever it took to win, even playing defense under Scotty. Honoring him would be great for him and the organization

The nhl needs to give him a contract with the wings he can still play at his age which is sad that he is playing in Russia although he is from there he should be playing in the nhl cuz he is a goalies worst nightmare I think if I did come back he would be great

That’s because you don’t know exactly what happened. That offer was never made... it was dangled pass expiration which was Ilitchs version of 🖕to Fedorov for negotiating the previous deal on his terms. 🖕🖕🖕Ilitch and his goons for not working out that contract and for not retiring the 91 jersey.

No he didn't, I was at that game as well. He played and was booed every time he had the puck, and even scored a goal to boot. Detroit won the game by a crazy margin, but I'll never forget it.

It's not him personally.... He was a bit stuck up and left on bad terms. I Remember going to see his first game in Detroit as a Mighty Duck. Except he chickened out at the last minute and cried "Flu-Like Symptoms"
