Nole can snag the #1 spot again if he as able to get in form. It was just in December that an in form Djokovic took out both Sinner and Alcaraz back-to-back in straight sets, demolished them. It was never his form that was causing his uncharacteristic decline in 2024, but other issues that ultimately surrounded motivation and feeling down in failing Serbia at the Davis Cup. IF his knee fully recovers (his overall fitness health is beyond pretty much every top tennis player, so to be expected), he can honestly pull 1 - 2 more slam titles. I think it is mostly good for Coco:) having Sabalenka as well as Rybakina in the semis already per draws does not change much imo. Maybe more so on grass (although never played, same afainst Rybakina), but it's gonna be most likely just Wimbledon and Iga is as competitive against Aryna on Hard courts as anywhere else. Same on hard courts against Elena. Overall, nothing is changed for Iga. If push comes to shove, you gotta beat the best, beat the H2H to remain the best. Also, I think Aryna can get the no.2 ranking soon enough:) We shall see. Exciting times ahead.
@Tied3486 ай бұрын
@@bettybetty9873 it doesn’t help Coco at all. Her ranking before would have made it impossible to avoid Rybakina or Sabalenka until the final and it’s the same now. For Iga she didn’t have to go play sabalenka until the final and somehow Rybakina was almost always on Sabalenkas draw so she mostly avoided them. It’ll be different now. Rybakina being as far from Iga is a dream come true for Iga. Also Coco lost first round at Wimbledon last year so she has a lot of points to gain. Sabalenka played well last year and doesn’t have many points to gain anywhere
@bettybetty98736 ай бұрын
It helps Coco in a sense that she will potentially meet Iga only in F. I dont think getting Aryna before F is a problem tbh for Iga. It is 8:3 in H2H after all. Well, how the 3rd and 4th seeds are placed is random isnt, so the fact that there was no Elena-that happened. Also Elena withdrew from two big tournaments, so the seeds allocation is a little skewed as she was not in 2 big tournaments. Rybakina will be exactly in the same spot atbshe was before in the rankings (4) so her seed allocation from Iga's perspective will remain the same. Will she be also in Coco's half more often. The fortune will tell. Dunno. Regarding Aryna- yes she had SF last year in Wimbledon and Coco lost in the first round, but I am a strong believer that she will get to F or even win, so she can be either +520 or +1220 points in there. Only if Coco also reaches SF, she will earn points over Aryna ( in a scenerio that Aryna gets to F or W of course). Throw Berlin W in there and that could suffice. Coco will lose Eastbourne points as well (she is not scheduled to play there) and it is 185 points.)And if not now, there is American HC summer and Coco has got a lot of points there and Aryna can earn in Toronto and enter Washington l, which she did not play last year. Anyways, it is all pure speculation and crystalballing :) I hope we will see more Coco versus Elena and Iga versus Elena if anything:)

They will still exclude Coco from the big 3. But she will continue to prove them wrong!

She has still in her ranking points US Open and and one WTA1000 title, so it doesn’t reflect her actual condition. Would Iga say in the press conference about Rybakina or Sabalenka like she said about Coco: „If I lose my service game to her, I knew that I can break it back” like without a sweat.

Yeah man maybe it is so but no one will break the greatest tennis player record 428 weeks at no1 and 24 grandslams and who knows maybe another grandslam or two added with his ability to do so because he is the greatest athlete when it comes to mentality period
