They could also be cherubim or something similar, or at least influenced by Cherubs because they remind me visually of the younger winged attendants to the gods, either Aphrodite's or Eros'

Tony Leung in this video reminds me of the deer in the Ditto video. The deer brought to Heesoo a sense of reality, that she was actually alone. In this video Leung does the same thing, Cupid has to face the reality that she is a goddess and that the artist of whom she loves only sees her as inspiration. He will move on to a new inspiration. Well, at least he will continue to have the painting of her to look back on.

The painting is a giveaway to the MV concept if you know of it ( you got there!!!) - L'Amour et Psyché (Cupid and Psyche, 1817) by Françios Édouard Picot. Its also known as "Psyche Abandoned". I think its in the Louvre for anyone wishing to see it. Another MV using clsssical paintings! (incl.MiSaMo and Red Velvet!!) Additionally Shin Woo-seok creating his style and trademarks - distinct sound production/rain/shadow/camera movement... alongside Bang Jae-yeob, they both have unique styles!!

Fun to see a real "educated" mature break down and reaction. Watching this was educating to me and made me aware of some of the intricacies of "Cool With You" and the parallel to the creations of New Jeans and their sound and influence in Kpop. I now see why Min Hee-jin used the story of "Cupid and Psyche" to show us her own inspirations to the creation of New Jeans. Brilliant. Subscribed. 🙂

Small Greek mythology lesson; after Aphrodite commanded Eros ( the Demi god of love and sex) to kill Psyche but he had already fallen in love with her. Long story short.. After Eros and Psyche were together and happy . Aphrodite asked her brother Apollo to kill her and he did. Eros begged Zeus to bring her back he did as Eros asked but Psyche loved another and walked away from Eros! End of story !

I think the rain had a magical effect on her. At the start she had held an umbrella in order to protect her from the rain and maintain her goddess entity, but later when she undressed and stood in the rain she smiled because she felt the rain and she knew she was transforming into a human being.

If you don’t know the girl in the black is Cupid and that’s why they can’t see her ,the man is psych and she is in love with him but can’t tell him cause she invisible and she ends up ending her Cupid then the other man i Venus who doesn’t want her to be in love with Psych so he makes psych fall in love with an diff person. I guess no, they are just being there to observe. Whereas her Dad notice the absence of new couples within her designated territory, that's why he came and undone her doing. P.S: regarding NJ role here, my theory is they are muses and this ain't the first time cupid forsaken her job, that's why these muses are assigned here to entertain her and keep her from being boring of her job and find another guy again, yet they failed. Still they didn't tell on her, instead buy her some times so that she can spend those moment with her boy until her dad found her slacking again. That's why those muses are being punished to dance non stop, and the cupid come to pay them a visit to Observe them dance like how they used to do to her.

Hmmmmmmm I didn't go to art school but I feel like I have a pretty keen sense for artsy things...so what came across to me, she was wearing all black and the way she was silently yet intensely stalking people in the beginning made me think she was Death. But obviously she wasn't taking people, but it seems like she was 'death' of relationships. In the elevator that might not have been a sudden tryst, that might have been infidelity, an end to that woman's other relationship. I thought this for sure in the restaurant when she was just watching a breakup happen. Then you mentioned Cupid as well as others in the comments mentioning Cupid. I think maybe they swapped genders for all the characters of the Cupid story and as such swapped what Cupid does: instead of matchmaking, matchbreaking. At the end she sees Tony's character and thinks "oh hell no" because maybe he's taken over her role as matchbreaker and she's about to lose what she traded for her 'godly' abilities. But I'm not 100% on that last part, as her lover didn't reject her, he's suddenly wearing all black and doesn't even acknowledge her. HMMMMMMM at any rate I love NewJeans videos lol and this was my first time seeing it too.
