Do you like OGX? Which line should I review next? Review: ( 4.5 / 5 ) The shampoo is cleansing without stripping. The conditioner is very rich in moisture and has great slip. The cream gives great moisture, but very little hold. Definitely follow up with a gel/custard for more hold. This line is good for all hair types. P.S. A fellow subbie pointed out that these contain mineral oil, so please keep that in mind.

I would always straighten my hair because I felt that have curly hair was wrong. Being in middle school, everyone around me had beautiful straight hair, so I felt different and like I wasn't normal. But last night I was introduced to your channel and I loved it! I learned a lot from you and seeing your curls gave me a lot of confidence. I personally LOVE John frida serum for coarse hair and HASK argan oil (smells amazing). Can you do a review on Herbal essence line of care for natural hair? They have 3 choices , in Honey, argan oil, and coconut . I've had an inherant distrust in their brand, always smells amazing but fails to deliver. But I looked at their ingredients and clearly they are imitiating natural hair brands . Did herbal essence step up their hair game ?

Hey Penny, always good videos and it's nice you are testing products that people will have available more easily outside of the US. I would just mention the cream is definitely not CG though, because of the paraffin and isopropyl marystate might also be drying (strict CG channel info but not 100% sure myself). I would say the sodium c14-16 olefin sulfonate is a good clarifying cleanser, althouth a pre poo is advised, because it can be drying. The conditioner as an alcohol... when not specified it's most likely a drying one... I would say you had good results but in the long run or people with dryer hair might not have the same results as you... like myself for sure I have to avoid anything drying. Anyway, there's nothing like experimenting what works for yourself :)

Penny!!! I have a question, please please answer? A lot of sulfate-free shampoos say they have C14-c16 olefin sulfonate, which is not technically a sulfate, but is practically pretty much the same thing (as I have read). I read that it is about as harsh as SLS. Even the Ogx shampoo that you use in this video has this ingredient. Do you still recommend shampoos with this ingredient? Is it maybe not true that the C14-C16 thing is really harsh? Please let me know😭. Add: If C14-C16 is as harsh as sulfates, it would also make sense that most Ogx stuff has silicone in it. But I really want to know your thoughts.

From a curly girl website "Is Sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate a sulfate? The name may be misleading, but sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate is not a sulfate. Sulfonate is related to but not the same as sulfates. In a sulfonate the sulfur is linked direct to a carbon atom where as a sulfate is linked directly to the carbon chain via an oxygen atom. They do have similar qualities when it comes to propensity of being irritating to the skin but sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate is not a sulfate."

I've been using the Quenching Coconut Curls products by OGX. I only have wavy hair and not properly curly so I actually prefer some silicones, as long as I use a clarifying shampoo once every month or two just to clear any excess build up. I also use the leave in conditioner which is fantastic and is a nice creamy butter, but I'd definitely suggest using a gel or something to add some definition and weight to the hair. I've had the same experience as you that my hair will feel almost to light and soft after a wash day because the products do a great job of cleaning and hydrating your hair but you need different ones to actually bring the definition and shape to look poppin. I'll definitely have to give these particular products a try! They have so many different products, I never know which is the best to use.
