This was SO helpful! I realize I’m expecting superior results too soon, that the key to depth is layering, value differences and variety. Thank you!

All great advice since most gouache painters tend to speed paint this way we can try to figure out which strokes and brushes make which marks

Hi there! Could you do a tutorial on mixing colours - how to get the different shades for the silhouette, shadow areas and the lighter areas? :) ❤

I am a beginner, can you please tell me what kind of brush i should buy? Filbert, angle, flat, round? Or all of them in every size? I wanna draw Ghibli scenery.
@OgygiaArt2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, for Ghibli scenery, I usually use a big flat brush for large area and a medium size round brush with slightly pointed end for everything else. Those two should get you pretty far especially if you're a beginner or you're looking to cut some costs. After that, you can slowly add in an angle brush and some different size flat/round brushes as you needed. I rarely use filbert brush but I know some other artists do. I also know an artist who I see mostly use a fan brush and a small round brush. So it's really up to you after starting out to experimenting with different types of brushes and what work for you. I hope that helps 😊

Any round brush would work. I use Lobeo Moon round brush size 2.
