Every time Jared says he has all he needs to be beat the game I die a little inside because I'm afraid he'll get all the way to Trinexx and not have the Ice Rod. He's been doing it for a couple of episodes now and I'm getting majorly concerned that it's going to happen.

LevityMire Yes, but he's been saying for a couple episodes that he has everything without realizing he needs the ice rod still. There's also nothing to clue him in that he needs the ice rod before he actually begins the fight, so he could easily get all the way to Trinexx before realizing it.

Well that's how all NES/SNES games did it back then. They didn't have a way to make it be invisible. So they just changed the color to it as the entity still needed to exist for it be in bounds when walked over. You see the same thing with games like StarTropics on NES when looking for hidden paths in walls.

He missed a piece of heart location that you can reach by going to the top-right of the swamp and using the Magic Mirror. At least he got the Blue Mail, so he can stop being paranoid that it will overwrite the Red Mail. 12:07: I didn't realize this at first, but on the video you can see the secret path plain as day! Interesting... 28:16: Yay! An LPer actually realized this! He doesn't need the Mirror Shield to complete the game. But I'm glad he's looking because he still needs the Ice Rod!

At 27:02 "Shit!! What if it doesn't have the Mirror Shield? If I can't find the Mirror Shield I can't do Ganon's Tower..." Dude, I always beat LttP *SHIELDLESS*, as in, go out, purposely let my shield get eaten as soon as I get to the Dark World, never replace it, and then never open the big chest in Turtle Rock, meaning now you have to dodge *EVERYTHING*. This makes things like Blind's fight *FUN* and the Cape & Cane of Byrna your friends in Turtle Rock. The closest experience I've ever had to this in a different Zelda game was torching the Deku Shield and getting Biggeron's Sword in OoT. For some reason I've just been a big of no-shield Link.

My trick for finding the "invisible paths" is I look at the screen from an angle (from the side or straight down). The path is slightly lighter than the blackness.

Hey Jared, don't forget that Sahasrala is still holding an item for you to get if you beat the Eastern Palace back in the Light World. Odds are good that it's worthless rupees, or yet more bombs/arrows, but it might be the ice rod or the mirror shield, too, and both of those are required to beat the game.

Fun fact: the swamp waters around Misery Mire have glitched enemies in them. In order to see the invisible monsters, simply use the Bombos medallion and all hidden monsters will die and drop bombs, for some reason.

1 mirror shield is usually obtained in turtle rock 2 you need the ice rod to clear turtlerock 3 since youve now gotten the blue mail anyway you can always go back now and check the big chest ice palace which you never got

I think that either the sound recording is off, or you disabled one or two of the sound channels in the emulator (if you're using zsnes) because the hookshot sounds really strange, and the dungeon music is missing one of its tracks.

Mr. ProJared, have you tried to toss in the regular boomerang to the Great Fairy next to Zora's Domain? i do believe you can toss in the Lv2 (red one) shield, as well. pressing "y" on the Magical 'rang will swap it to the regular 'rang. it is my understanding that the Great Fairy might give you things for answering truthfully.

Should be mentioned in v5 of the Randomizer, the requirements to enter Turtle Rock and Misery Mire are randomized as well. Therefore, it just so randomly happened that both required Ether, but on another playthrough, they both might be different.

Today I tried this randomizer too and so far it's interesting. Instead of the Lamp there was some weird medallion which has electricity and transforms enemies into weird yellow goos. And I never played the original except when using the glitch to beat it in 5 minutes. I never got past the second dungeon...

I was personally hoping Ether was in either of those spots, but he was not entirely wrong, as far as I know there is still a slim chance the game could put an item in the right spot, tho sometimes it doesn't even place a possible important item inside the big chest to begin with as seen in earlier vids where it's just a compass or something. I have gotten the blue boomerang in the castle, exact same chest you get it in vanilla, for example, on the latest version. His main problem aside from completely ignoring all comments on his vids is he's terrible at putting in the work BEFORE playing. He jumped into this hack with no idea what he's doing so it really just goes to show how much the randomizer caters to casuals with vague memories of the game and impatient personalities. If you think you can get stuck in the dark world permenantly if you save and don't have the mirror, lose the ocarina by getting the shovel, or that items can accidentally downgrade, it shows you didn't actually read the changes/bugfixes and you're gonna have a bad playthrough simply cause you're worrying about problems which no longer exist. So far all problems are accidental item misplacements, and dungeon issues (softlocking the swamp palace is still possible, but they made it so you can just go one screen away to reset the whole dungeon), serious glitches have been fixed. If you watch this video you can see his pendants disappeared after he visits the big fairy. It's cause he's using an older version of the randomizer I think, iirc they already fixed that glitch.
