Actually there's no telling which of the 3 medallions he actually needs. The reason is that the two required medallions are randomized for each seed. So it's a 1/3 chance he needs the ether medallion for Misery Mire. It's possible Turtle Rock requires it as well. Or it might not be needed at all. It all depends on the seed his rom uses.

well silver arrows and lv 4 sword don't change location in the randomizer once u beat misery mire u can purchase super bombs and get to the fairy to upgrade them ice rod is needed for turtle rock plus medals are randomised so he may still need them

9:21: I love how it just pauses on 1337 when he's going through the door. The game isn't possible to complete without the Ice Rod, since he needs it to kill Trinex at Turtle Rock. And he needs some medallions (it's random which ones he needs) as well. The hookshot is much nicer than the sword for fighting the penguin guys.

Actually, you don't necessarily need the to get the good bee. In my seed at least, one of the bottles came with it already. Of course without the net you can't get it back after you release it.

I remember trying to do the Ice Palace without the hookshot. It was so tedious. I did it, but I remember I kept ending up in the room at 21:12, and since the door closes behind you I had to Magic Mirror all the way back to the entrance. Then by the time I made my way back down, I forgot to avoid that door and I had to warp back AGAIN. I did that so many times... I hate the Ice Palace now.

mirror shield is not required, i beat ganon's tower on the randomizer without ever getting the mirror shield, silver arrows are not randomized, so hopefully he doesn't forget to get them after misery mire. they also are not required to kill ganon, since you have a few frames to hit him on the second phase to damage him before he teleports (though you'd actually have to know that first, i've only found that out recently) medallions needed are randomized and could also require the same medallion to enter both dungeons

In my seed, I still haven't found the ice rod yet, but I haven't even been in dungeons 5, 6 or 7. There's a couple caves on on the eastern half of the dark world mountain, one of them has quite a few chests.

hookshot is the most effective way to kill the green kappa enemies in the ice dungeon that doesn't waste all your magic. And it's quick. You can rapidfire the hookshot as long as it hits something close-ish to you.

Once you're done with this, Jared, you should totally do Majora's Mask Randomized. It's a bit of a different experience but totally completeable (especially if you use Goron Mask or Fierce Deity Mask to get into the ocean early). It also only randomizes the locations of important items (masks, equippables, swords, shields, etc) and doesn't change the locations of things like Small Keys or Rupees or Heart Pieces.

Pfft I didn't think it was my phone because I changed my text alert to the fanfare you get after making a 4x chain in Tetris Attack. Also Jared's randomizer was way more interesting than the one I got. It really seems to depend mainly on where the bow, Power Gloves, and mirror get placed. If those all show up early then you don't have to do many crazy sequence breaks with going to the dark world before getting the Master sword.

In a standard playthrough, I was fighting the first dark world boss. I created a save state just before the fight... on half a heart... so I had to fight it on half a heart...

The Randomizer for this game means you can't leave any unopened chest. There's a couple left in the Ice Palace that Jared didn't find aside from the Big Chest. One of them was in the room where you fall down the hole you need to bomb to get to the big chest, and appears when you melt the two ice monsters that come out of the wall. Let's just hope there was nothing he needed in those.

You can, but as Jared mentioned its always a risk. An ideal run in this randomizer would allow you to skip as many light world dungeons as possible, along with the 1st Aganihm fight.

Funny he should mention the Ice Palace being the bane of kids existence. I had no trouble with the dungeon itself, I couldn't figure out how to get in the damn thing. I eventually resorted to writing an actual letter to Nintendo asking how to get in since my parents didn't want to pay to let me use the help line. I still have the response letter somewhere with instructions to get in and a list of all the heart piece locations (figured I'd kill two birds with one stone).

So he has a 1/9 chance of being able to complete the game after getting the ice rod (chance of his medallion being correct on each is 1/3, thus probability is 1/3 * 1/3 = 1/9), a 2/9 chance of needing both extra medallions (chance of needing an extra medallion on the first dungeon is 2/3, then chance of needing the remaining medallion on the second dungeon is 1/3), and thus a 6/9 chance of needing one extra medallion. But the probability that the first medallion he' gets is the one he needs is 1/2, so the chance that he only needs to find one is actually 3/9, whilst the chance of him needing to find both is actually 5/9 (adding the chance that he physically needs both to the chance that he needs one but finds the wrong one first). So he's almost guaranteed to need to find at least one medallion, and more likely than not he'll need to find both. Can you tell that I love maths (and yes that means I'm British)? ;)

I know he cleared out the bottom left buildings in the dark world. Also can't remember if you play the flute for the old man in the bar if he gives you something
