Gil and George were hilarious as always but it seemed off in tone, a bit more acerbic and dark than the OG stuff lol. The old skits they were more naive, silly and light

The characters, Gil and George aren’t rich… The jokes are in ornery elderly New Yorker men, of a certain generation and social group, interacting with each other and their surroundings in LA. I get your sentiment and even agree with it generally, but this sketch is not an example of that.
