No, any unpaid TV part of the total should be subject to the current collection and enforcement arrangements. Unfortunately, and wrongly, such a report from the cronies and the crazies in the House of Lords, is likely to carry some weight. I reckon we are all being put on notice that this is likely to be the "solution" to the BBC's funding problems. If it happens, stand by for even more dire "entertainment" output and even more biased news and current affairs programmes.

A fee tacked on to council tax would cause me to withhold part of my payment, out of principal (I despise what the BBC represents) and if after 50 years of abiding by the law, I have to become a criminal, so be it😡

@@eileenspamer-kw3kz I’m getting to the point where I don’t care anymore. What are they going to do? Put me in jail for a month? Guess what.. I still won’t pay it. It takes a lot of patience but you can become council tax free. Obviously they won’t take your bins but that’s about it as far as I can tell I get for my £200 a month. The head of NYCC is on a salary of £200,000. I know where my money is going and why they hike it by around £20 a year.

I'd just deduct the amount from my council tax and not pay it, if they challenge it, I'll stop paying tax altogether. They can take me to court etc but they will get the finger. I'm absolutely sick of this country and my tax paying for things I don't use or need like migrants, police, NHS etc. I pay private medical. It's faster and a way better service
