This competition is where all the judges are famous singers in their own lives.. the woman in red is Julia Parshuta a famous singer.. the man standing up is a famous singer as well and his wife is an opera professional,, they all sing and judge each other ,, they all had Diana winning by a landslide,, they said she was creating virtual reality with her voice.. you should check out her covers of wicked game, Human, Rechenka, and many others when Diana was age 14 and 15. She is considered a dramatic contralto with polyphonic overtones ,, In this video she is 18 she has now really honed her voice with very low lows and very high highs and in the middle..

Diana is a bit like Dimash in that your mind isn't sure what to do with it at first but you know damn well you want to hear more! Diana has been called a Siren by many as she has such a commanding power to her voice. If you want to see her fully unleashed check out her Dune Movie soundtrack cover with full orchestra in St Petersburg, but go back first and watch some of her stuff from 14 and 15 which is when most of the world realized someone awesome was among us and still so young. Watch her cover of Wicked Game and at 15 and Rechenka at 14 which is a spooky old Russian folk song. I see the 'mood story' of her cover of this song (Can't Help Falling in Love) as being a bit like a series of realizations building to a climax - realizing you are falling in love, it will turn your life upside down and you can't do anything about it and you realize it may all end in tears (your own) but you will just surrender to it fully however it turns out. And that IS scary! Diana like Dimash, does not have a genre but dominates them all. Watch her Louie Armstrong; "What a Wonderful World" and see a completely different Diana. You have just listened to a true contralto with possibly multi-tonal qualities.. “Diana Ankudinova, A Russian National Treasure” (My opinion), I have been following her for a while. She is another very interesting story that you will discover. Wait until you hear “Wicked Games”, “Take On Me”, "Human" or "Rechenka" Even though it is in Russian you still feel the emotion behind it. I've heard her sing in Russian, English, French, German, Arabic and Spanish so far. No matter what language it is beautiful.

Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in eight billion. Having watched well over 100 initial reactions to her, only one did NOT say she was "unique".

She has such a unique and amazing voice, and I believe she transports us each time somewhere... I think also due to her very traumatic childhood up until she got adopted, that experience in a way made her soul stronger and she always transfers those dark emotions that she lived in a way in her serious songs... Yeah. This performance is a one-of-a-kind experience. I first saw it on Facebook and thought the sound was corrupted. Then I watched it countless times on KZbin, and then I began a journey to watch hundreds of reaction videos, and that journey is still a long way away from ending. You have now joined the ranks of millions of listeners who have been shocked and confused by her completely unique, dark contralto polyphonic voice. This was an unusual competition in which 9 singers all performed for each other, and scored each other (with an additional guest judge). All of Diana's competitors in this competition had far more fame and professional experience than her, so the praise she received was even more remarkable. Needless to say, she won the competition (at age 18) with a perfect score. The version of this video on her channel has the judges comments (in Russian, with subtitles). She also gave an encore performance of this cover sometime during the competition. That rare performance is hard-to-find, but interesting to watch. After this video, I recommend checking out: "Wicked Game", which is one of her earliest covers, and "Rechenka" ("River", in English), which is a spellbinding ancient Russian folk song. Be sure to choose her original performance that she sang for a vocal competition at age 14. There's also videos of later concert performances, but they don't have the dramatic staging. Her original "Blizzard" and "Derniere Danse" ("Last Dance", in English) performances are also remarkable.

I'm not sure you really want to start up with Diana because she is the one performer that's going to flip flop you all over the place and you're going to be confused and dumbfounded every single time she's like no one else you've ever experienced she's also one that you want to watch as well as listen to because her stage performance is unbelievable because she's one that will drag you into her moment up there on stage but if you so choose to continue with her I strongly strongly suggest that you do a little bit of research on her background not only is it an amazing story it is very heart-wrenching and inspirational then go back and do a reaction to. A performance she did when she was 14 years old. That has now become legendary and iconic it is a Russian folklore song by the name of rechenka that will give you an idea of who this young lady is she also does one hell of a cover of Chris isaak's wicked games also legendary and she did that one at 15 years old she also did a cover of rag'n'bone man call human if you make it past those three performances then you might be okay to continue forward this girl is not your average performer

I get it, and I can see your laugh isn't meant to be disrespectful. The first time I heard her sing this, I thought she sounded possessed. Took me a couple weeks to get used to her but I'm totally hooked now. Check out some of her other stuff, I'm sure you'll get suggestions in the comments. And try to listen to versions from her channels. This one is seriously shortened up, it lacks the commentary after and a chance to hear how she sounds just talking, and you're probably going to get a lot of folks steering you away from this channel.

I get what you mean about when someone completely switches up a cover. I could never stand the song I Will Survive (Gloria Gaynor) until I heard the same song covered by a band called Cake. Love their version! 😁
