‘Doctor says you’re cured but you still feel the pain. Aspirations in the clouds but your hopes go down the drain.’ Makes tears well up in my eyes if I sing the lines out loud. It hits me as a parent, as a daughter, as a wife, as a friend and my inner childhood dreamer. Life is full of choices, some only understood in hindsight. Forgive others and forgive yourself for human mistakes, errors in judgment, unintended consequences or missed opportunities - do not linger in grief or strife; instead linger in the joy throughout the struggle and the valuable lessons learned along the way. Things can only get better (if you let it). Howard Jones gave us a little positive therapy released in song form. His music has brightened my mood many, many times over the years.

Howard Jones An 80's icon right here. I was 11 years old in 1986 when I first heard this song, and this song has stayed with me in my personal experiences in life over the last 40 years of my life. Its haunting song in a good way, because the song makes me think about the rights and wrongs and the come goes, and the reasons why leading to the experiences; for the come and go's that have occurred over the course of my life.

I've known the song since I was a child in the '80s, and it's another one that has always been part of reality for me because of that. Furthermore, it is one of those '80s songs that are of a certain quality that I can't quite describe at the moment, but one of the best ever. Again, because I spent the first several years of my life in the '80s, Mr. Jones and so many others who were making music during that period are revered philosophers to me.

"No One is To Blame" is an amazing song and was a huge hit. Howard is just one of those artists that has a specific sound and style that is so easy to know exactly who it is when the music is playing. His writing and musical talent is so underrated. When we discuss great writers he isn't ever mentioned along with other great writers and he should be. Sometimes I don't think he was taken as seriously as he should have been because of his unique hair and style, which is unfortunate. Watching Howard listen to his own music, you can see how proud he is of these songs. He should be. They have given so many so much happiness. Excellent interview and reaction Jay & Amber!

Just an incredible song. And I was a Judas Priest, Iron Maiden Sabbath die hard before this came out, but talent must be respected! This song is about that girl in high school (a few of them, actually) that I didn't ask out for a variety of excuses. "She's probably dating someone", "She's not interested in me", she was too shy, I was too shy. A million excuses. Missed opportunities, but this was in the back of my mind when I decided to take the chance and found the right one. Thank you to Howard Jones.
