One of Seether's best, with a great message, is "Rise Above this." It's a song that you can tell was extremely personal to the lead singer, and serves to remind us of the effect we have on everyone around us, especially our family.

There is palpable tragedy to 'Rise Above This.' Shaun's younger brother Eugene was horribly depressed, I think he also had drug and alcohol problems, and Shaun wrote that song for him as a way to say "You're gonna come out of this. You're gonna be okay." A few weeks after the song was written, Eugene succumbed to his depression and took his own life.

The lead singer from Seether dated Amy Lee (Evanescence). Amy wrote the song “Call Me When You’re Sober “ about his struggles with drinking/addiction. He wrote a song called “Fine Again “ about those same struggles. It’s a great song to check out. Other great songs are Rise Above It (a song about his brother’s passing), Burrito, Tongue and Broken (featuring Amy Lee)

I highly recommend the song they did with Amy Lee called Broken. I have a voice acting background and use it as a vocal warm up. The vocal training itself for me was really tough, sometimes without noticeable results for months but artists like them or Chino Moreno, Chester Bennington are a great impulse to not give up. You almost saw me as Leon in those new RE games :)

Seether is a South African band that started in the late 90s! Seether is my favorite band from the 2000's and I think they're ridiculously underappreciated. The lead singer is Shaun Morgan and he used to date Amy Lee from Evanescence. It has been said that the song "Call Me When You're Sober" was written about Shaun after the two of them broke up, and he in turn wrote the song "Fake It" about her. The break up wasn't exactly congenial. When they were still together they did a duet called "Broken", which I would suggest. The first song of Seether's I ever heard, and still my favorite, is "Remedy".

As a South African I take tremendous pride in Seether hailing from my home country. Saw them a few times before they relocated to the US and changed their name (They were previously known as Saron Gas). "Fine again" is a great track from their back catalogue. Might I suggest another South African band for you to check out? Just Jinger is a great band that has been around for many years. If you're going to check out their music, I suggest "Leaving Shallow Waters", "What he means" and their cover of Rodriques' song Sugar Man. (Check out the story of Rodriques btw - his music really spoke to people in South Africa during the Apartheid years. He is HUGE in South Africa.)

Seether...one of the biggest alternative bands to come out of the 90s/early 2000s. They are still together and touring. I worked in radio about 20 years and we had the only alternative station in the area. When alternative bands were coming into town, they would reach out to us, and so I was lucky enough to see many of them perform. I would take my son and when Seether was here, they let him hang out with them before they took the stage and made sure Aaron was right up front. They have many great songs...probably one of their biggest hits was Remedy. Check it out!

Seether is one of my favorite current bands, although they were bigger in the early 2000's than they are now. I am sure other commentors will recommend "Broken" with Amy Lee from Evanescence, and it's good...but in my opinion, it's kind of softer and less representative of their typical sound. Songs that are more representative of their sound include "Fake It," "Remedy," "Country Song," "Words as Weapons," "Same Damn Life," and my personal favorite song, "Fine Again." Songs by them that were not as big of hits, but still rock, are "Nobody Praying for Me," "Betray and Degrade," "Let You Down," and their cover of "Black Honey" by Thrice.

“Fake It” has been a big hit in the US for Seether & would be a great place to start. FYI… A County singer-songwriter named Buck Owens, who pioneered the “Bakersfield Sound”, had a Hit with his Song “Act Naturally”, which was covered by Ringo Starr, and then re-recorded as a Duet between the two of them. 3 somewhat different versions of the same song by 2 Hall of Fame Artists. 😊

The band said they don't do love songs, obviously. The song was already on the album, so this was the response. Amy Lee from Evanescence dated the lead singer of Seether way back when Evanescence was taking off as a new band in 2003. Shaun Morgan and she had issues due to his drinking and drug use. He checked into rehab in July 2006, and Amy Lee wrote the song "Call Me When You're Sober" about her relationship with him. Yes was originally sang by George Michael in the 80's but Seether did great job so both are good. Imagine if George Michael and seether did it together?!

Seether is one of my favorite bands and I think they are very underrated. Loved your reaction and watching you discover this amazing group. I recommend Country Song by them or their cover of Nirvana Something in the Way.

Seether is a south african rock band formed in the late 90s/ early 00s. Theyre still going strong with new music and tours. They have a massive catalog to list all here but my personal favorites are; "Fine again" "Rise above this" "The gift" "Nobody praying for me" "Save today" "Truth" "Love her" And so many more. Rise above this was actually written in response to Shaun's (the lead singer) brother commiting suicide

Thought they broke up because of Shaun's substance abuse

@@perrdawg-py8my1cl7l I think they went on a small hiatus while he got treatment, but it wasn't a permanent thing. Amy Lee and Shaun broke up due to Shaun's substance abuse. Which led to the evanescence song "call me when you're sober". But yeah. They've had like 2 or 3 full albums in the last 5 years. And just released an acoustic collection that's really well done. You can find it on their KZbin channel

Limp Bizkit remakes George Micheal’s “Faith”. And Tori Amos does a fantastic remake of Nirvana’s “Smells like teen spirit “. Also , Disturbed does an awesome remake of “Shout” by Tears for Fears.

George Michael was my first concert in 4th grade. My older sister took me because I was obsessed. We were in the 7th row and I loved every second. This version is good, but George Michael, just ❤❤❤

very, VERY Underrated Band. As others have mentioned "Rise Above This" and "Broken" and "Fake It" as the known singles, along with the one that got me hooked, "Remedy" - a very "Mainstream-Nirvana-esk" sound to that one. But others I REALLY enjoy by them include "Fine Again" (Yep, MADDEN 2003 got me!), "Six Gun Quota", "FMLYHM", and "No Jesus Christ" - one of the BEST Openings, and I recall when I saw them in concert (ages ago) they had an awesome opening using this song, lead singer out there solo, curtain down behind him with a video of what looked like red rain coming down, until the DROP....got the great show started off right.

This song is around 16 years old, which puts it in the late 2000s. I remember loving this cover when it came out all those years ago. I remember that “modern” rock got really metal driven. Alternative became more separated from rock and became a more pop-driven genre. It was around this time the rift of alternative and rock really started becoming noticeable.
