The drummer who sang lead on this tune is named Gerry Polci. I was a freshman percussion major and he was a senior at Montclair State College in NJ in the fall of 71.

That would be right after he and I were in the graduating class of 1970 at Passaic High School in NJ. Gerry was a drummer in the high school band, an actor in our plays. I was so thrilled when I saw him as the drummer for the 4 Seasons!

Also....I'm glad you showed this video because I always thought that Frankie sang the whole song...come to find out the drummer sang the majority of it! Unreal! Last but not least....check out Jackson Browne's live version of "Stay." It's a medley so it should be about 8 minutes or so....

These boys are from my town in Essex County, NJ. Frankie's daughter went to my high school. Frankie's voice in one of a kind. They began by singing under the street lamps. Big chart hit in the UK, where it's one of the first songs I remember. Kind of strange that Frankie - known for that unreal falsetto that seems to have inspired everyone with a high voice since - doesn't take the high part on later records. But then he is kind of guesting on this one..
