This man should be making records! Are you listening record companies? SIGN THIS MAN UP NOW! Excellent work friend. I use to play electric and acoustic guitar for 25 years and I've never heard lap steel done like you do it.

It is incredible what a lap steel in the right hands can do to a piece of music. This is an instrument and a musician hugely underrated.
@Runner20002 ай бұрын
I want one of these so bad. My old guitar playing buddies ask me why since I have a Gretsch. We are old Metal Heads. So since they don’t listen to country like me, I had to put it in terms they would understand. “Because Duesenberg is the Gibson of Germany and this is the Les Paul of Lap Tops. If Jimmy Page played country he would play this.” Now they get it. I love the benders. Bud, you are crushing it on that thing. Great playing.

Holy smokes... that moment when an instrumental cover is better than the original.

If you love steel guitars, there are few players that can touch Luke. I have been playing and listening to steel guitar playing since I was 14 yrs old (89 now), and I have heard a VERY few that could "milk" out of an amp; what Luke can. Wow! Absolutely Brilliant! I am sure that the late Jerry Byrd (Greatest laptop steel guitar player) and Buddy Emmons (Greatest Pedal Steel Guitar player); would say similar above; if they were alive. May Jesus rest the precious souls of both of these dear friends. How I miss them.

Luke, you have a helluva touch. I say this because I am 88 yrs old and played my first laptop steel guitar in 1945. What you did is beyond incredible. The steel guitar has been my love, when it comes to music, for 74 yrs. Even wrote a book titled "The evolution of the Pedal Steel Guitar". I only have two problems. And I mean NO disrespect. So I suggest: 1. You should not slant your hand when slanting. Use only your fingers to slant. for the world's greatest laptop steel guitar player, Jerry Byrd, proved that decades ago. As he taught and demanded it with all of his students. 2. Please try and use a round Bar. For it lends itself more to the way a steel guitar should be played. I know, I know, great players like Jerry Douglass, does it your way; but he mostly plays Bluegrass. But your awesome type of music will work out better with a round Bar, IMHO. Others will disagree. And I could be wrong. Again, NO disrespect kind Sir.
@lukecyrus3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the insight! You're right, I have since worked on slants since recording this video 5 years ago. About the tone bar, I've tried using a round one, but found it doesn't work as well for bends, which I use a lot. I started using a Sheerhorn, which definitely sounds more like a round bar.

Hey, this is beautiful thank you. A few questions though. Which strings do you use, what is the tuning and most importantly what volume pedal and effects pedals do you use to make that sound so perfect and warm to listen to. I might get one myself one day. Thanks In advance ...
