It finally happened. Chain sharpened just right and rakers set to soft instead of hard (husky gauge). What a difference! I was bucking faster than my wife and son could split. Glorious day. Thanks Buckin'!

Just occurred to me that chain sawing is like motorcycling in that the guy doing it feels like he looks really cool. Only difference is…… he does. 😉 Happy buckin buck looks fun. This part of the job NEVER gets old for me. It’s like the prize for falling it perfectly is you get to buck now.

totally agree on 1-2 pulls no choke on 04x 05x 06x Stihl saws too - choke on first pull often brings a flood of emotions

I like your approach, I never was taught to take my time when I was younger, I dove into many a dirty log, and ended up with white caps on my chain and a poor cutting saw, lots of filing. Work smarter, not harder, if I only knew that 30 years ago. Another great video Buckin'.

That 371 iron horse was impressive as heck , and I was actually pretty darn impressed with the hand filed 572 ..As always doing the prep on the wood is pretty darn important and pointing this out is only going to help anyone watching that will listen. You know I have never tried a whole lot of different chainsaws and I would love to try one of those old Mculloughs one time ...in all my time running saws it has pretty well been husqies , sthils and jonsreds ..oh well one of these days ..keep on rolling buckin , I th8nk your next inspiration for me will be pushing back from the plate a little earlier and dropping a few ..See what you do brother ? Inspire ...cheers

Wish l had the mac 10 10 going. Just saw people on mountain men, they lived in B.C. . Worried on cutting 3 huge deat spruce trees. First thing l thought was. Why didn't they just call Bucking?

Gday buckin, I’ve enjoyed watching your videos for a long time and find them really useful to help me learn new skills and techniques. I’m a 18 year old lad from Australia and cut and sell a lot of firewood because I just love it! I was wondering where you get your bamboo timber from to make your axe handles, I would like to try and make one myself. Keep up the good work mate. You’re an asset to everyone❤️🇦🇺
