Oh, Rick!

Oh, Rick!

Күн бұрын

Meet Comedy's Everyman, Rick Crom. DOC NYC Audience Award Winner 2017
Featuring: Bill Burr, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, Dave Attell, Jeff Ross, Bill Grundfest, Jon Stewart, Ray Romano, Godfrey, Louis CK, Tom Papa, Colin Quinn, Alan Havey, Judy Gold, Mark Cohen, Bobby Kelly, Mike Royce, Brian Koppelman, Noam Dworman, and Estee Adoram.
“Do you know Rick Crom?”
Most likely, another question answers that question: “Rick, who?” Even after you Google his name, you’re still unsure who he is, but you know you’ve seen him somewhere before.
Then it hits you, “Oh, the guy from Louis CK’s show! The gay guy in the poker scene, right?” Yes, THAT is Rick Crom. But there’s so much more to Rick beyond that poker table. On any given Saturday morning, Rick is bustling down the sidewalk, papers in hand, on his way to the “Comedy Cellar,” one of New York City’s most respected platforms for stand-up comics. The “Cellar,” as it’s known to Village regulars, is where Rick teaches undiscovered, aspiring stand-up comics. It’s also where Rick got his own start back in 1984. Now almost four decades later, who did Rick become?
He’s an award-winning actor, singer, comedian, lyricist, composer and teacher. He’s made a living in entertainment for all these years doing what he loves, an accomplishment few can claim. On top of that, he’s a kind person who’s respected and loved by his colleagues. But, did he make it?
Success. Fame. Luck. Timing. Happiness. Life.
“Oh, Rick!” is a documentary that aims to redefine how we measure it all. And most importantly, to answer this question: “What drives Rick to be Rick?”
Including a 25th anniversary reunion stand-up special recorded at the Comedy Cellar.

stop smoking British cigarettes.. also, little pattys of ground beef. Because they are also 'bundles of sticks'. Fun fact; the word we are too chickenshit to say shares the same etymology as 'fascist', from 'fasces' - meaning, a bundle of sticks (with an axe in it - think Abe Lincoln's dumb throne at the monument) There is a mun mact mor you maggots

I was on vacation in NYC for Christmas and had to check out the comedy cellar. We went the first night and were blown away by the atmosphere. I also had the best slice of pizza I’ve ever had that night in the village, skip forward We had such a good time we went to another show a few nights later, This was the Tom papa Christmas podcast show. We got to see mark normand who was not a HUGE national name like he is today but i also saw RICK walking through the crowd and i recognized him from “Louie” lol, i simply introduced myself and said hello and he actually sat me down and actually had a real conversation with me…like he was trying to talk to ME… I wasn’t expecting anything but a “hi thank you” so he really went out of his way. I love telling that story, its such a unique experience. IDK maybe he was just trying to bang me 😂

I'm curious when the Carson booker said, "you're not right for our show" that you didn't ask him to clarify what the hell that means? It's pretty assholish for somebody to give such a vague explanation to such a relatively important matter. In athletics, coaches or scouts will generally explain which weaknesses need to be improved upon for latter success but that doesn't seem to happen in entertainment.

@@harshitwadhwani1313 I suppose phoney is the short answer. He SEEMS nice... but he is absolutely NOT nice. You know those LA types that are really full of their own self-importance and superiority? The guy is a schlub. But hey; watch a Rogan episode with him on, where they are nice and relaxed, see what you can pick up on yourself. And I'm NOT saying he isn'tt funny - which to be honest, is all that matters I guess. Take care out there - all the best from the UK
