Can I use simple 18v battery?If yes will this affect the top speed or not?

The fact that they still went with the plastic collet boggles my mind. It was a fatal flaw on the previous model.

What was the issue? Was it the classic super stiff twist to unlock and it would mess up the depth setting. I have a solution for this issue buy some chain lube a spray it down and just give it a couple twist and locks unlocks shouldn't have to do this but it works

I've seen on TV and recognize that the constant-run mode was being used on those drywall drills with the heavier motors, because for some reason corded-drill motors are heavier, so they wind down more slowly, giving constant-run the advantage because then the screws are being zipped in really quickly as a good operator runs it. But since the light motors on these battery-powered ones are so quick even as they start and stop, then what supposed advantage would one of them still have to keep running for a while? In this case it's not so much speed but just saving wear and tear on the motor (because starting and stopping is more taxing; saving wear and tear on both light and heavier motors)?

I got one, a lot of improvements, one major step back, the forward reverse toggle used to be where you ring finger goes and it was perfect there, I like the shape I think it's better in corners, when you said same spot as always your forgetting it's not a drill or impact, it used to be a toggle above the trigger

If you're talking about wood on wood use an impact,but drywall on wood this gun will save you hours of time and effort

@@420WILD sure it does, just buy a magnetic bit tip holder and you're good to go, I would never use one without it

If it’s a dewalt , you can use any dewalt 20v battery, I would recommend a 2ah because it’s light.

@@hammerandhome You are welcome. But I must give a second update, in the name of honesty.. For ~$20 more, the tool was available from another seller with a 5Ah battery and charger. I had to cancel the affiliate purchase and go with that one. I still greatly appreciate the informative video, however. How about a subscriber to compensate? I know it's not a 1:1 exchange but the battery deal was too good. God bless!

This gun needs a thinner build most screws on the edge are not flush with the drywall having you to constantly having to adjust the depth , pretty annoying the plastic handle on the top of the gun gets in the way also

@@hammerandhome id like to see you push these screws without any problems this gun will grind all day with 3 inch and don't even try to reverse them they will destroy your bit. this gun is a piece of junk. i've tried two of them and both aren't as good as a cordless screw driver

so why would you want constant run draining battery time if you can just push to run per screw. Also the magazine sucks. get the N7 if it still fits.
