She is FAST! Love that wedge and the table width, looks like a winner. Congratulations Austin and Matt (and Joe) for developing a sturdy, speedy, high quality splitter. Elaine from Canada here, doing a little hibernating because of the -17°F and colder with windchill weather. Great to see the innovation going into the made in U.S. machine. Nice video Joe, keep up the good work, the content, and the conversations, cheers.

Cycle time is definitely faster. The only con I see is not having a log lift. ( same problem with super splitter) Those were some serious logs he was trying to lift on to the table. I understand it would make it more expensive, but it would save your back!
@ohiowoodburner10 сағат бұрын
I agree with the log lift but I understand that may be another version in the future.
@KevinHarvey-qw5mjСағат бұрын
Ya but people buying it wants to see the lift on it to save there backs that one there just looks like a thing in progress but have them complete it could be a good splitter but we don't want to wear yourself out before you use it just to split a piece at a time thanks for posting it but when you work with splitters with log lifts hard to give them up @@ohiowoodburner

Nice. I like the work area it provides. Also that floating wedge is a clever simplification.

@MrTombo-gg4bq40 минут бұрын
After splitting a trailer load of wood I'll have a big pile of trash. First thing I wondered about is and didn't see explained is how does it deal with the small scraps, bark chips and dirt that is going to fall into the trough? After a trailer load of chunks split up I would have at least a 5-gallon bucket full falling into that, I could see the ram pack it tight if there's no way for it to self clear.

"You have NEVER seen a splitter like this before" "LogOX® is a firewood company that is innovating and not afraid of doing something different. They're not just copying other people's designs and putting a different paint on it. They've created it from the ground-up. It’s risky, it’s bold, it’s different. But different not for the sake of being different, but because it's fitting a need that our market needs. I am really digging it."-Ohio Wood Burner Ltd

Joe, that new redesigned Log Ox machine is the Cadillac of Machines. I like the Design of it and especially the Ram the way they designed it to Split the Logs. The Stove like design does not let that Log go anywhere just toward the Wedge. It's Very Portable and can go almost any where you want it. Now myself being a Senior at 72yrs it may be what you call affordable. I am going to call Shortly and see if maybe we could Work Something out. All depends. When on a Fixed income, it's not easy. I used to Sub. For a Local School District but budget cuts they are not using Subs, for now. If that ends shortly Which I do hope happens then It may be possible. Well for now I just have to see what Happens. Thank You Joe for the great information on a Great Product. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.

@jimmieburleigh95494 сағат бұрын
Should try and come up with and optional lift for point of sale or a later upgrade. Also if the original is decently cheaper maybe still offer it as well 🤷
@ohiowoodburner3 сағат бұрын
I am sure they will be looking into that JB
@danschneider399011 сағат бұрын
That is a nice running machine. Like the speed, size of working area and compactness for storage. I have one question, how easy or difficult is it to refill gas tank? Cap to tank looks fairly close to the bottom of work table.Stay safe and hydrated ( water or Dr. Pepper)
@ohiowoodburner10 сағат бұрын
Thanks Dan. Filling you would want to use a transfer pump. I had one from Harbor Freight that worked well. They will send a hand pump w the machine. It isn't that big of a deal. But the trade off is compactness and it is much quieter

I wish LogOx success in selling this machine. As the wood hound community knows, there are other quality cheaper entry level commercial grade splitters available (Eastonmade Ultra, Wolfe Ridge RS-17 and RS-22, Split Fire 1165V). The market will certainly decide how well the LogOx Summit does.

@megamike43577 сағат бұрын
It looks like a slick little machine. The real draw badk i see is the tablet itself. It appears to be a very long reach to the opposite side of the cylinder control lever. It could be my imagination, but it doesn't look to be the most ergonomicly friendly machine. Overall, i think its a nice machine.
@ohiowoodburner5 сағат бұрын
It doesn't behave that way. The table size is a big deal to stage rounds and other splits awaiting their turn. The reach is a nice distance

Hi Joe - it’s Big Rodders in Ireland. An interesting machine with good features. For a hobbyist I still think the Split Fire 1165V might be a better choiceas it is less than half the price with cheaper running costs, has a quicker cycle time and a very useful log lift. The 1165V is only rated at 7.5 tons compared to the Log Ox at 30 tons. Plenty of choice out there for sure.
@ohiowoodburner10 сағат бұрын

Yes that would be a great option especially with everything gravitating towards battery and electric powered equipment
@Adam-d1u9x9 сағат бұрын
I see one thing I don't like ,that standing edge for the roll off ,it should be a rolled edge, a rolled edge just might save a finger if a chunk of wood came down hard for some reason.
@DanielAtkinsFirewood7 сағат бұрын
That would change as it's getting used. At least from what I have seen in other tables. 😉
@ohiowoodburner5 сағат бұрын
I learned with another horizontal splitter there are a LOT of pinch points. Certainly need to know your around the table
@rodneysweetnam86535 сағат бұрын
Big Rodders again. My fear around my splitter is not being nipped by the blade but having fingers pinched - this I think is a greater danger. That’s one reason why I use tongs when placing rounds onto the splitting table. Another fear I have are trip hazards, especially around ivy. That’s why I constantly tidy up the ground area when I’m working.
