Today we install the 2008-2014 Subaru STI Ohlins Road and Track coilovers on our 2015 STI! These coilovers not only look great, they also perform amazingly!

I have these on my 2019 STI Ltd....amazing. Both more smooth and more competent at speed/turn in and just giving even more traction. No downsides. I added noise avoiding LCA’s in the rear, toes, anti squat hardware, a 24mm rear sway, and end links....all selected with my shop’s help to avoid noise... Versus lca Super pro toes White line sway and links and squat kit Wow. Wow. Wow. Better than a friend’s gt3..... This should be the first thing one does to an STI. Better ride in town as my every day car...and overall much faster too. These are a work of art too.... my 2c

I have to say this. 2015 WRX. I was on Fortune 500s. Harsh on sharp/uneven pavement. The entire impact was felt up through the strut and into the strut tower, and I like a firm suspension. I tried the Ohlins, and I must say, it is hands down awesome. The ride is as close to factory as you can get as far as absorbing bad bumps. Any coilover is okay over modeate rises and falls. It takes a great coilover to absorb the junk that is out there and deliver outstanding cornering performance.They are well worth the extra cost.I do about 5 track days a year. These are going to work great. Only drawback is that the dampening adjustment is on the bottom of the front struts.I added Cusco front and rear strut tower braces at the same time, and the ride is phenomenal (not on factory wheels/tires).

I have had a good share of coil overs most of the cars I have built over the years, and I have to say the last three cars I have built have all had Ohlins coilovers installed, and I don't ever think I will use anything else. They are as good as it gets for off the shelf coils. If you can afford them, get em. if you can't and are thinking you will just compensate with some of the less expensive brands, do yourself a favor and save for a couple months and get the Ohlins....they are that good!

Would these fit on a 2014 wrx? I know there are some differences between the sti and the wrx but to what extent.

Same man I've got a 14 wrx hatch I can't find info on compatibility anywhere!!!!!

@@osudnave405 I found out that the difference is at the hub or bottom of the shock. The sti has a bigger knuckle than the wrx.

Any idea if : You can ride stock height with these? How much weight difference in favor are these vs. stock?

Why only made for the 2008 models ? what happen to the earlier models ??.

No none at all. We actually put them on another employees car awhile back and they've been awesome on that one too. Really just super solid coilovers all around :) Rick

How do you secure the brake lines as there is no brake line bracket welded on the struts.

Lengthy question... I've been researching my hindquarters clear off the ham! Ive seen so many different setups. At this point with all of your experience. (i am still on the squishy 2008 STI factory suspension) If you could cherry pick the best Suspension upgrade for Daily driving with a little track for fun. Motor/trans mounts,bushings, control arms..Struts. ect What would upgrade to. ***** RECALL***** I am going to upgrade as soon as i get my car back for the RECALL we have all been waiting for.... The faulty welds on the firewall causing the clutch creek, death grind. Thank you SOA for recall love Damn i'm dancin

Ohlins state there are weight savings due to aluminium construction. It would have been interesting to weigh the old and new units side-by-side to see what the actual weight savings are.

These are specific for the 08-14 models, however they will work on the 15+ you just need to ziptie the ABS line to the bracket as no 15+ mount is provided. Hope that helps :) Thanks, Rick

Would be really helpful to have an assembly video. As beautiful as these are and the packaging is awesome, the instructions are complete crap. They have all the hardware for the front and rear mixed, and no part numbers. How the hell do you know what spacers go what assembly. Pretty sad documentation. You would think they’d spend more than 5 minutes writing up how they should be assembled.
