If Romario went to the 1998 World Cup. 1) R9 would probably not have had his fit which came about from stress , as Romario would be sharing the pressure R9 was bearing alone. (And was more used to it - R9 was only 20). 2) even if R9 has a fit.. the problem for Brazil was the entire team being spooked about it on the bus as they didn’t understand it.. And they were all demoralised on the team bus on the way to the match. This affected the performance of the entire team that final. Had Romario been there his presence would have lifted all spirits.. that’s what his personality did.

Here in Brazil I think most people (and me) prefer him than Ronaldo. Ronaldo could be stronger and faster but Romário was better in the pure art of making goals. For example, Romário had an excelent head shot even being 169cm while almost nobody remembers Ronaldo making a goal by a head shot. Romário came back to Brazil in 1995 being Fifa Best Player of the Year in 1994. If he had been more dedicated to his carrer instead of thinking of parties, he would be more recognized.

If it would not have been a situation created by Zico Personal issues against Romario, No doubt that Romario would be compared to Maradona in every stance. Both tiny height, both with controlled ball upon feet, both Very limited with Left or Right foot and viceversa and then the action, making the impossible looks so easy. Romario is the only right striker with low height that can exceed or surpass a Tiny Height left footed striker, as an example Maradona.
