Karen Lovett The whole format of the show though is that it mixes joke contestants (who think they are way more talented than they are) with real amazing talents. I’m sure the show realized what it had and sent her out after a couple of pretty good performers, right when the judges and audience would be expecting a ‘joke’. And she had a lot of the signs of one. The producers must have been dying laughing backstage when they caught that Simon eye roll on camera before she started.

The first time I watched this video I was in tears, not just the beauty of the song and her voice but the way she didn't stand down and she triumphed. Of course, that talent is God given but regardless of whether we have such a talent we shouldn't stand down from our dreams. I've watched it multiple times whenever I've needed some inspiration or a pick me up. I'd hope this would bring so many people to a realization. Even if she'd ended up not having such a great voice, she should never have been ridiculed. BTW, I don't believe the initial reactions of the judges and the audience was necessarily set up in advance but I do believe there was probably a bit of manipulative camera work on the audience. Just need to say. I was in the audience of this and other Britain’s got talent shows. The audience are not prompted at all, the audiences can cheer or boo. A lot of booing and the act get the big x

She is assuming it's the same as what happens to audiences in American shows.Just like the American reality shows that are always scripted

Never never judge a book by its cover. A lot of people learned that lesson from Susan. Especially Simon. And I love Elaine Paige too!

The female judge later made fun of Susan and mocked her in a skit wearing a frumpy dress with a sash tied around the waist. The judge did get a lot of negative press because of it. Rightfully so.

@@me-pm6mx damn, I didn't know that. That ain't right man, you just don't do that to folks, I don't care how high and mighty you are, y'know?

India, Susan Boyle is the One That Blew The Roof Off, for many performers after this Audition, and BGT. She is now a legend.

I live near Susan, this is her. They took for granted that a non conventional person would have a beautiful voice, it is typical that people assume everything on appearance.
