It's a Frippery!!! What else can I say? They are fun to listen to and fun to play. (it rhymes) Subscribe! I will be adding more solos on a regular basis. I teach horn at a University and my goal is to create a video library of some of the best horn solos for my students and others. Also let me know if there is something you would like me to record. Check out my website at www.steveparkhornmusic.net.

I video taped myself conducting the whole thing from the score. Then I loaded it on to my laptop and watched it while I recorded each of the parts. It was the only way I could think of to keep it all together. And it worked!!! If you watch my eyes, you can see me going back and forth between the music and the video. Thanks for watching ;-)

Oh my the memories are coming back! I played 2nd in this quartet during high school. 13 years later I still remember the fights we had learning to play this and the how awesome it was scoring max points at competition. If you're a horn player, I highly recommend doing this! Even just for fun!

I just had the pleasure of playing this piece. My high school band toured Russia and played this 3 times. We had 3 horns and a Euphonium who played the 4th horn part. It was pretty awesome.

I loved it. I love quartets. How much easier it must be to tune to yourself, and the same horn than another horn player with his/her own ear and instrument.

I chose to do a quartet with my friends this year but sadly my teacher didn't let us play this because two of the quartet members are freshmen and may have trouble.... It didn't look too hard though :( Now we are playing In the Country by Pottag.... I was wondering if you could play it so we can have a recording to kinda base it on :) PLEASE AND THANK YOU

I think your next endeavor should be Tcherepnin's "6 Quartets for 4 horns" (Sechs Quartette für vier Hörner in F). It's probably the most influential horn repertoire to me. It's a fantastic piece.

I'm trying to start up a horn choir in my home town and was looking for a frippery to do and this one sounds perfect. I've spent 30 minutes looking around the internet for the sheet music for it to no avail. Is there anyway you can help me find the piece?
