As a half new team under a name change, we had 1 day of prace with a new group and the cap did not get to look at all the rules bc 2 days ago he was just a player for the team and not the cap. Even without the - points shock it was a close game just (in game wise).

Out of curiosity, what was the reasoning behind the players not having already made their builds prior to the tournament? From what I can tell, once the rules were made they could have pre-mapped their builds per killer.

What do you mean? When did they say they don't have their builds made ? When they go into a custom game they have to swap over perks to what they want to use. Other than that they never once said they didn't choose their perks beforehand

I mean being able to pick on the fly let's each team choose to play safe or risky based on who they're up against and the current score, if you're going in knowing you need a 4 man escape to stand a chance you'll probably want different perks than if you just need to get 2 out for instance. You've also got map specific stuff like balanced landing and totem spawns to consider.

OP thinks they had to make their builds up on the spot which is not true they were just getting people into the lobbies and then the people had to change their perks because of how the custom matches fundamentally work. Did you even read my reply or OP's comment?

They aim to get 4 out so they have their builds and strategies ready before they go into each match practiced for days and weeks. They simply have to select their perks due to how custom matches fundamentally work because it puts on your build from public matches. Then they are probably confirming everything coordinating it between the 4 team members to ensure everyone has their correct build and such. There is no picking them on the fly

There's no way ruin stays up that long. That guy had to walk over it and called that it wasn't there and they never checked again cause any other comp team you see play knows where every hex spawn is and usually deals with them within a few minutes of the game starting.

If it's too late to do something about it for this video, in the future could you remove that tournament logo thing or move it somewhere else? It's really frustrating to not be able to see the players' perks. If this was an initial mechanic to prevent screen sniping and whatnot, then could you add the perks after the fact or add a list of the perks prior to the game in the later-posted youtube video? Revealing the perks has no consequence that way since it's already over. Otherwise, love this video! Please upload more like it! Eh, not really. Every Killer has certain perks/add-ons that are banned for balance, and same for Survivors. (So like certain general balance perks they mentioned to be banned are like Camraderie and Deadlock. But then to add to it, Survivors can't bring perks that are deemed too strong versus said Killer without a deduction.) Plus, the maps they used are really well balanced for these Killers, and they all knew the possible roster (And I would assume Maps+Perk Bans) ahead of time, so they had time to practice. Tbh I actually think it's really well balanced for both parties.

Sure, it can secure some downs but in the end no hex totem is too overpowered especially at their level of play... Well I shouldn't say "no hex totem" as they could whip out something insane and add it to the game but in the current state, no totem I am aware of and especially none they would allow in competetive Dead by Daylight.

I came disappointed from the round of 16. The commentary is a tiny bit better for the quarterfinal. I still don’t understand why they’re not showing the perks. Also, this seems like we’re just watching a killer’s tournament because they rarely switch the survivors cams. The amount of “like” or “yeah” tofu says can get annoying. That Frenchfry guy was annoying so I’m glad he got wrecked! Overall, the tournament seems very poorly organized. I will keep watching cause they’re nothing else out there and hoping it gets better. Doubt it.
