What's funny is this is actually a really good game design principle called positive reinforcement. It's just buffing the weakest thing in the game until everything is viable and powerful, and only needing to nerf if unintended consequences come up (like exploits to get out of the map). It's super engaging, although it's hard to do

My favorite way to play Pig has always been Jump Scare Pig, where you use her brown add-on that increases her crouch movement speed with her red add-on that lets her see nearby auras while crouched. Then I just Ambush out of crouch for easy hits. These buffs Pig got recently just make that playstyle even better since her crouch speed is even faster Ambushing out of stealth works even more reliably now.

Maybe Ruin/Undying are getting cleansed because they're not doing gens, and instead running around to get traps off and running into the hexes. Since they don't have active traps (maybe because of Ruin) they have the time to cleanse the totems before taking the traps off.

Really love this style of video! I feel like there's something for everyone with all the tips and tricks, and as a newer player, it really helps to see the macro thought process / ideal strategy for the killer as well as survivors 😊

As a Pig main, the buffs are definitely good, especially with the dash addons. Some content creators just exaggerated during the PTB and made it sound like it's suddenly the best anti-chase power in the game or something - It's not. It's just now a solid option at shorter loops because it isn't completely countered by holding W. What a lot of people don't talk about is one of the few nerfs to her kit the patch introduced - not being able to see jigsaw box auras. I believe the reasoning behind this was to prevent Pig from just following survivors forever to ensure a headpop, but it doesn't actually accomplish that, and in fact might make it worse. Especially for newer Pig players who may not have the best survivor tracking or sense of jigsaw box spawning. Experienced players will still be able to interrupt box searches, and inexperienced players will be less likely to leave trapped players to their searches, because they can't reliably patrol boxes any more.

Adding on to this as a fellow Pig main, it makes her feel much more like a Myers-type killer, which she can't really be unless CONSTANTLY crouched (And I keep running through my supply of red addons like a coffee addict at Starbucks for aura sensing). It kinda forces you to camp maybe one or two boxes instead of risk finding the others, ESPECIALLY on maps you're not as comfy with or haven't memorized the box placements. I think it also de-incentivizes her traps even more, why bother if you can't reliably intercept the removal? It's tough enough to get them to pop anyways. Even six months later, it's REDUCED the amount of trap pops I've had (Which were low to begin with). Sometimes it takes like a twenty games to get ONE pop, which makes the trap feel next to pointless. If I wanted to run Myers, I'd be Myers. Still doesn't change that I run Pig to be fun and just harass players (which the buffs have made a LOT more fun), but I'd to USE my cool gimmick.

10:07 the ds buff is why dh is becoming increasingly popular. Same thing with ub. You're going to see dh ds on average 2 times per lobby minimum, and you'll see ub paired with it about half as much.

Also a Pig main--she feels quite a lot better to play now. Survivors can't just W away from loops for free if you're holding the pallet with your M2 anymore, and stealth is a lot more viable now with faster crouch.

Friends til the End imo is her best perk. if you hook the obsession it's possible you can interrupt someone on a box. as an m1 killer getting info and temporary insta down snowballs even more combined with her slowdown. and with this add on combo you can crouch before shack window vault with superior anatomy and dash hitting them before they make shack pallet

Def pinhead just for the fact that he has the ability to stop everyone on gens at once and can teleport across the entire map. However pig has to trap all 4 of them to pull that off which is very rare and even if you do it doesn’t do anything while you’re chasing someone with it on but pinhead has chains constantly harassing you in chase on top of stopping their gens. You could maybe argue that their base chase powers are similar in strength. But overall pinhead will def win more games at the highest level

The only thing when playing against survivors as pig that isn't fair, is that the survivors have the ability to see where they can take off their traps at. They should allow pig to see her jigsaw stations like the survivors, like how it used to be. If not, they should remove that ability for survivors that gives them an advantage .

2:30 did BHVR make it so snuffing a boon disables the perk? or is this mis-information? I thought only killers lose their perk when a hex is cleansed, and survivors can just go make a new boon if it gets snuffed, unless you have shattered hope and can destroy the totem when you snuff the boon. Even with shattered hope they can just go to a different totem to place their boon, until you break them all.

I reckon the resurgence of Dead Hard is due to some of the older players coming back to the game/to the perk. I know a lot of members of the survivor community who outright quit because it got “nerfed”. Now they’re starting to come back to the game (maybe through the KZbin cycle) and are rediscovering Dead Hard again. Other community members stopped using it out of spite for the devs which is so in character for this community. Everything comes in cycles, I’m sure a time will come again where ds and dh are merged again.
