I made Annas recipe for the regular Nanaimo bars last year for Christmas. Im American and never heard of them, but Anna I know. This year when I was planning my holiday cooking my daughter spoke up, "Mom make me some of Annas Nino bars". I did and this year they were even better. My daughter loves them.

I feel like blow torching the marshmallows to take the bars over the top. Thanks Chef Anna for great recipes!! ☺️☺️

Those flavoured hot chocolates from Christmas baskets would be a dandy flavour to use for this familiar treat. I love the flaked salt idea- Nanaimo is, after all-has Coastal Waters! Thanks for this brilliant recipe innovation!✨

I have made Nanaimo bars for years and do have that custard container too. I don’t have any other use for it either. 😊 What a nice variation this is. I look forward to trying this recipe.

As someone who almost lives in Nanaimo(down the road) I’m suspicious. But it’s Anna and I trust Anna! You can do a Nanaimo Bar Crawl but you end up rolling at the end 😂 Com

Sorry I missed it. Just 2 questions cuz you love Nanaimo bars so much, I very much wanna try them. Is there any substitute that could be available in Spain? (I think they don’t sell that here); and second: do you need to temper the chocolate? Thank you Anna!

could an actual pasrty creme work as the middle layer?

Don't you need to cook the milk/custard-powder mixture?? If I mixed our German custard - powder with milk and would not boil it, it would taste all starchy, floury... if you know what I mean...

Looks yummy. I feel like toasting the marshmallows would be tastier….cold, unmelted marshmallows aren’t that tasty….
