This recipe is foolproof! I did so many things wrong and it still turned out. I got distracted and left out the butter and eggs way too long and it was a hot day so the butter was pretty melty. For some weird reason I didn’t manage to clip the kitchenaid mixer bowl in properly and a bunch of butter and sugar spattered out so I had to estimate the lost amount to add back into the bowl. Our fridge is crazy and froze our sour cream so I gradually microwaved it until it could as least be incorporated into the batter. The consistency was kind of alarming when I dumped it in, but I pressed on fingers crossed. Then when baking I managed to tap the off button on the oven while wiping down the stove top without noticing for an hour until my mom came home and pointed out the on light indicator was off. Turned the oven back on to bake for 20 mins and it still came out light, moist and lightly golden all around. I expected to have a dried out hard crouton of a cake after so much slow heat! So kudos Anna for a recipe even this space cadet klutz could make!

My favorite baker. My go to techniques page😊 Just made Lemon Cream Cheese Pound Cake...light lemon cream cheese drizzle and crushed pistachios for effect. My neighbors 70th bay and he kept hunting about this cake I had made for Easter and shared. My Grandmother had recipes going back to 1800s England. My Grandfather died during Depression leaving her with 6 babies under 6 to raise alone. Her home in Florida was next to Thomas Edisons Estate Fort Myers FL and she got clippings from his master Gardner and began a thriving nursery. In 10 years she had acres of flowers orchids 4 greenhouses and rare wild orchids staghorn ferns. The property had avocado oranges 5 varieties tangerines mulberries guava gold and pink star fruit strawberries coconuts and so much more. I only listed fruits because she turned out lemon curd lime curd guava jam guava curd mulberry jam preserves. Imagine hand grated coconut than toasted with pecans and a brown sugar icing or her coconut cake 3 layers high with a white coconut fluff and between layers passion fruit preserves. It was a magical wonderful secret garden. BLESSINGS for spreading love❤

Hi Anna, love your videos! I've a question: is it okay to reduce the amount sugar? Is it going to affect the texture of the bread?
@meherpanjwani72764 жыл бұрын
yes you can reduce the amount of sugar in any recipe in the world. :) Unless it says that you can not reduce the amount of sugar, like some ice cream recipes. :) But it will not affect the texture of the bread :) Meher: Age 11 :) I'm 11 years old but i bake every day and i lower the sugar in every recipe so please trust me :)

I baked this yesterday, but my cake turned out thicked and packed / densed at the bottom part compared to the upper part which was fluffy and light. The taste was on point, the colour was a bright yellow sunshine & it smells yummy. What I noticed was when I ve started mixing the butter & sugar batter with my eggs, the cake batter turned out much more watery and less creamier like Anna’s. And also the cake cooked rather earlier 20 mins than the recommended 60-75 mins. I ve tried my best to follow as per instruction but It was rather tricky for me to estimate the right temperature for the eggs or the slightly colder that room temp butter. Also, I ve substituted cake flour with self raising flour which was also a low protein flour. It’s not ideal but it was the best that I could do during the lockdown period in a hot weather country. I loved the taste and colour just the texture bugged the hell out of it. Help me Anna 🙏 or anyone else please & 😊 thank u.
