Lucky for me the snake ran into the bushes to avoid my foot and aside from being annoying the bees and wasps were fairly docile. They were just thirsty. I suspect the area to be great if you can find virgin ground.

You might try winching the big boulders out or use a micro blaster. To help with the bees just hang a fish over a 5G bucket with water in it and put soap in the water. You will have hundreds in there dead.

The rock you were questioning looks like calaverite or telluride
@nabzim2 жыл бұрын
Calaverite (aka gold telluride) is a specific type of gold ore, and is not the type of gold deposit that exist in this mountain range. Placer gold, which they are mining, comes from erosion of quartz veins, where the gold exists as pieces of pure gold (pure, as in not chemically bonded to any other atoms, like tellurium, as in gold telluride). Those quartz veins are the most common type of gold deposit in California. Gold telluride is actually pretty rare, and can only be found in specific places, such as Calaveras County, where the mineral calaverite was first discovered, hence its name. The rock look more like to quartzite to me, but I'm not sure, because I'm no geologist...
