I have it on My Cooper and it was milky when I detached the catch can. Thank you for your video. I was worried. But it’s condensation due to the cold weather.

I recently purchased a 1990 Honda Accord sedan with 80,000/miles and I follow what this mechanic told me to do in the winter/summer. I add 10oz of automatic transmission LUBE GARD instant shudder fix to the 4qts of oil to help keep moisture out and oil and metal parts clean. I’ve had zero problems and the engine purrs smoothly. My round trip is 245 miles daily. I have no catch can either and winter weather here has at one time been -10 degrees

I put a catch can on my Hellcat here in Texas where we don't have severe weather. Several months later it had about a half an inch of that sludge in it.. It was pretty concerning at first. I guess I'm good. 120,000 mi on it. Oil on the dipstick is nice and clean.

I know this is old but did your car start smoking pretty bad before you cleaned it ? Having problems with my 17 hellcat
@CB7Media7 ай бұрын
@user-ki7fo4rw4d it wasn't smoking, just very sluggish! Is your car losing any oil over time or antifreeze ? What cooler smoke is coming out ? Black white gray blue/gray figuring out that can definitely help Narrow down where to look first! And sometimes cleaning things up will help for a short time. If there's a problem, hopefully, this helps you out

Pretty cool. Thanks man. So good. I gotta a h23 intake on my f22a4. Sometimes my car won’t start after I get to work. I got to work really early. Sometimes 36 deg. Then my car will start if I take the oil cap off to start it. Crazy right. I’m getting the lines for catch can tomorrow.

My 2017 cruze is doing this and it’s making the car throw codes for the amount of water it’s taking Into the intake I believe it’s now caused my intercooler to ice up and not allow proper air flow to got through

I've got a 2004 BMW 325i....I need a new coolant temperature sensor.... engine running cold...it's been cold here in Virginia Beach...and I drove to church this morning and saw sludge under oil cap. But the dip stick was regular oil color....no bubble's in the coolant....coolant was full ..and no white smoke ....should I be worried?
@CB7Media2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't be worried if your dipstick still looks good and no white sludge on it
@williambernstein43132 жыл бұрын
@@CB7Media it doesn't .. I drove the BMW this morning on a few errands.. it's close to 60 outside...I checked oil cap and no chocolate milk lol...so I'm leaning towards condensation.

@@CB7Media I thought the thermostat needed replaced but the heat worked today and yesterday...but I'm sure it's the original so I'll probably replace it ...we replaced the spark plugs....but not the ignition coils and boots...those are next. Question...can the failing coolant temperature sensors cause shakiness and even stall sometimes on start up? It did that a few times. Maybe it's running too rich...the temperature gauge stays on cool which of course isn't accurate
@CB7Media2 жыл бұрын
You probably do need a new thermostat if it's staying on cold and now it's fine if it's shaking when it's cold it could be your fast idle valve cutting in and out because it's not warm enough and not cold enough to idle out properly just a guess you should try cleaning your throttle body and check everything over including the air sensor on your intake if the thermostat dose not fix the problem of it shaking

Doing my oil change rn on my 3rd gen ram and had yellow residue and condensation on the oil cap. Kinda worried, since I can't find a catch can for this truck
@traceyjones20102 жыл бұрын
Funny I just emptied my catch can started kinda freaking out it looked like a mix between oil and antifreeze and I'm like whoo so I checked my dip stick and I'm like thank God looks like oil and I checked the oil cap and no milky stuff watched a couple of you tube videos only to find out it's condensation.
@CB7Media2 жыл бұрын
Luckily the catch can helps catch all that before it hits the intake it will mess with you if you don't understand that's why I made the video for that reason
@gabrielark6353 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I just checked mine and had the same scare, I checked hose's and didn't see it on the ones that connects to engine, I switched to the antifreeze when I poured it out on a piece of wood didn't see a trace of blue but more of clear water as it came out with a touch of cream color. And it was 46 degrees this morning.

Thanks so much for this video!! This happened to me also. I tested for blown head gasket but it passed. Can you answer this? I installed catch cans on both banks. (2004 Tahoe). At oil changes I have 1/8 cup in drivers side can, while passenger side is bone dry. What does this mean?
@CB7Media2 жыл бұрын
You are very welcome! I would check the pcv valve your catch can and hoses to the catch can to make sure nothing is blocked or cloged. I know Chunks of grim can get stuck in pcv valves or they just get frozen shut / open. Hope this helps !!

Find your PCV valve and follow the line back to the intake get a catch can and some rubber hose that fits and put it together
