Right on. I’m building my 7MGTE, and recently had my engine rebuilt. Now I’m having some oil travel into my Intercooler, so I’m gonna add a catch can ASAP

Hey bro great vid. I'm still learning a lot about the Supra and watch all sorts of things about supras that's I have yet to understand. This being one of them. From my understanding this setup helps eliminate buildup of engine oil/gunk circulating back through the engine? Or am I way off. Also, do you happen to know if this is a smog legal mod? I live in California where the laws really suck. Thanks again for the vid!

MrMNH1 I don’t see why it would make it illegal. It should, if anything, clean your exhaust up. It does help eliminate build up, because it stops the oil from even going into your intake (the way I routed it anyway).

@@theturboflamingo132 thanks for the response! Yea the laws here don't make a whole lot of sense. It's the visual test I worry about. I'm still trying to find all black hard pipes for my 7mgte to make it look as stock as possible

MrMNH1 I really feel bad for car people that live in California. That state sucks for enthusiasts. I’d try a parts store maybe. They sell PCV stuff and you should be able to fab something up that way. It’s all black so.. hope that helps!

Question for you. Did you have and smoke issues on deceleration or random smoking on idle after a few minutes? I changed my valve seals to fix that problem and it still happened. Accordingly to many on the forums I supposed to have from valve covers to catch can and back to both accordion hose and intake to have vacuum in order keep pcv from trying to pull oil through my turbo seals.

I don’t have any smoke issues. It was routed from valve cover to catch can then to turbo intake (accordion hose). That way it kept it under vacuum just like it was run from factory

@@theturboflamingo132 thank you, I can only assume my turbo oil pressure is pushing oil past my seals.

Good idea to redo the pcv system like you have. Would have been a better idea to leave the charcoal canister in its original location and place the catch can where you now have the catch can located

Howard Hutchinson Idk, this way, there’s less vacuum line running over top of the engine too. It actually uses a lot less line too. It still vents out the fender wall and everything just like the other side

yea otha way around better and use better pcv hoses than those clear ones the heat will weaken it nd you could have a fire get going if it burst open.

What is the catch can that u use (brand and model)

This one was just a cheap eBay thing. Currently I’m running one from Evil Energy and and made custom hoses with AN fittings.
