Always check for old gaskets stuck to the oil pan or oil filter mount. Remove them and add the new ones.

That's not necessary at all. I don't lube the gasket on the new oil filer or prefill oil filters. I've never had any problems with leaks or taking out the oil filter on the next oil change with difficulty.

You need to tighten that oil filter tighter, then hand tighten.
