OIL FURNACE TRIPPING OFF ON SAFETY. CUSTOMER HITS RESET WAY TOO MUCH

Service call on an oil furnace tripping off on safety. Lets troubleshoot

I've got a Mueller Climatrol oil furnace, built in 1958. I clean and inspect the heat exchanger every spring after running it for a season. It runs nice and smooth. I've burned kerosene (#1) in it for over 20 years. New nozzle every 2-3 years. It's got the original stack relay, and the only other control I've replaced is the fan/limit switch a few years ago. I use the beckett z gauge and check the z dimension when changing nozzles out as long as it is set right the head stays relatively clean. That nozzle did look funky for sure its a good thing that primary control has limited reset until going in a hard lockout could have been alot worse with the old honeywell 3 wire lol

My furnace would run and then randomly shut down. Our furnace guy came and he replaced the transformer. Our furnace is 26 years old. The issue of shutting down continued. The Honeywell furnace controller was the issue. The contacts inside were worn.

My old van was such a piece of garbage lol got a new van recently because the repairs on that one were more expensive than the value of the vehicle itself
