You should oil paint a portrait of your wife (and maybe also your kids) as a gift for her. And make a self portrait to add to that collection while you are busy 😉 the mother of my best friend did that, and it really makes the home feel personal, homey and artistic

I’d love to see Jazza try the Colour Blind Challenge (Like how in a room with red lights you can’t really see lots of colours) with oil painting. I feel like the painting would look so weird and so cool at the same time

@doubtful_seer 3 жыл бұрын
I never realized I was doing a colorblind challenge each time I was in the darkroom while doing film photography, but wow, that actually is true. Everything always looked so insane in there, we’d have to label everything because color coded danger bottles just looked the same as the other bottles. I always liked seeing how people’s clothes would look different in there too compared to outside the room.

Time limits help. Especially if you're stuck on something. I've been working on a song for the past month for a couple hours a day, and I only have an intro for it. It's gotten to the point where I kinda hate it so today when I got home from work, I forced myself to sit down and write the music for a whole song start to finish. It's kinda like Jazza's 1 minute painting; it sucks, but now I want it to be 6:30 tomorrow so I'll be home from work and can get started failing upwards on the one I've only got an intro for.

One person chooses a picture, if the other one agrees we have three weeks to draw it in our style and after those weeks we post them online. These tell a story together to me, like the painter is painting to remember their wife's face as their mind wastes The second is them grasping the horror that they're losing the image and the third is a pile of shapes they're unthinkingly painting. Somehow, their last painting of "her" proves they haven't forgotten at all

I’ve got to move to 10 hours and then eventually 10 minutes so I can get back to actually finishing my art work and then *gasp* having pieces I can sell?!?! 😱😂

Why not? He isn't wrong. We have all seen far worse sell for massive amounts!!! There is a painting, for instance, by artist Clay Johnson titled "Truce," which is nothing more than 5 stripes of varied width in shades of grey, black, and white. It is for sale at the "low low price" of just over £12,000 (GBP)....€14,000 (EUR)....$16,550 (USD)....$20,800 (CAD)....$21,700 (AUD) I know my 6 year old granddaughter paints better than that (She watches a lot of youtube artists, like Jazza), and Jazza has many years experience on her! But at six she has already mastered techniques like blending and highlights. An abstract landscape by Willem de Kooning called Interchange, sold for $300 Million (USD) in 2015...at least Jazza's abstract woman actually resembles...well....a woman!

The 10 minutes, showing that you've learnt from the hour, and you use some of the skills, and refine them. The minute, showing everything that you've got, yet still not completing the expectations you had for yourself. Put these skills together, please do a 2 hour, 20 minutes and 2 minutes of Oil painting, they turn out so pretty and i'd love to see how you'd go with it. That would be cool, especially if the white characters were different than the black characters. Like for black go for an evil necromancer theme with zombie pawns, dark knight thralls, hag witch queen and white be a holy knights theme or something.
