@charlescourtois10754 жыл бұрын
@rebel 777 famous art very rarely celebrate dark skin tones, and ofc in other countries around the world people will depict people that look like what they re used to see. But lighter skin tones are seen as more beautiful globaly and artists tend to celebrate lighter skin tones when it comes to beauty. That s why I appreciate the fact that she chose to paint someone with dark skin for her beauty, not comming from an environnement with a majority of "black" people. Thats just what it is, I m an artist myself and very rarely I see people using dark skin to depict beauty 🤷♂️

@rebel 777 oh boy... first off I never said "this is wrong" or "this is right", you did, and second of all, the time of a country = one skin color only is waaaay over ! non white people who succeed in the industry succeed because of hard work and even more hardwork than white people cause yes, racism is still a thing apparently... The time I work on a painting varies depending on its size and complexity, but in general it takes me anywhere from 20 hours for smaller paintings to about 40-100 hours for medium and big pieces. @andrewaguayo1154 жыл бұрын
Most to all artists use reference for realism. Usually artists that have cartooney styles do it from memory and such since lighting and other factors aren’t as hard to remember as realism
@max-bl6fi4 жыл бұрын
@@andrewaguayo115 yeah, the colouration of the skin is too detailed for it to be from memory
@cherryskies74874 жыл бұрын
@@max-bl6fi weellll not necessarily. It would definitely take a lot of skill but there are people out there who have it. I do think she uses reference photos, I feel like I remember a video where it was mentioned. Not everyone does though, at that point it's more of developing a deep understanding of light and shadows and anatomy so they can make good art and still manage not to use reference.
@cherryskies74874 жыл бұрын
@@andrewaguayo115 Hmm. Yeah that's definitely accurate I just never really actively noticed I guess. I don't judge it by any means but I dont like cartoony styles so I've never played much attention to it but it definitely seems right. None of my friends who draw that way use references.

i have such a difficult time painting dimensions into the face so it ends up looking flat :(
@joyartjoy20014 жыл бұрын
bruhbruhbruh bruh you could practice drawing and shading 3 dimensional shapes and simple structures first it will help you apply that to other things. It take a lot of practice and repetition but once you understand it it gets easier. Also observation really look at what you’re drawing for a long time look at the reference more than your drawing. I’m not an expert but hope that helps a little
@andrewaguayo1154 жыл бұрын
bruhbruhbruh bruh Just remember that everything has dimension, even an apple etc. start with light colors in the center, and darker colors on the edge of the face and blend. The more values the drawing has, the more realistic

A good tip is to start in only grayscale. When you try to learn dimensions using colors it's too distracting and difficult. And use refs!!
