G'day mate, your steering wheel's on the wrong side and your engine is facing the wrong way, but I still found the sensor with your help, so, thanks for the video.

Oh no problem, friend. Lol. Is that an Australian accent by the way?
@mal43833 жыл бұрын
@@BarboursAutoHelp You've got the accent in one! Just bought myself, not sure why, an '87 Navara 4x4 ute(D21 Hardbody), with a 3.8 conversion, and wanted to disconnect sensor to be sure what the extra warning light is. Was pretty convinced it was oil, but when I fired it up, with sensor disconnected, the bloody light went out, but only for long enough to confuse the hell outa me, and then came back on. Now thinking I have a Navara, with a wicked sense of humour.

On Mine, there doesn't appear to be any leaking oil, but the oil light comes on and dings (very annoying) , the engine runs fine, do you think the sending unit has gone bad? ( I guess I can try replacing it ... realitiviely cheap solution if it is the sensor)... Do these go out very often? (it has 175k on it) Would the next step be an oil pump? thanks for all of your help.
@BarboursAutoHelp6 жыл бұрын
It could be the sensor. The only way to tell for sure is to diagnose the problem....... or try a sensor and see what happens. Yes, the do go out a lot.

Very detailed instructions, thank you. I have the same engine in my 03 Impala. The problem I'm having is my oil pressure is reading about 3/4 on the gauge. It does go up and down, depending on how I'm driving. But I'm just curious if you know if the oil pressure sensor is the problem? I don't think it's normal. I plan on changing the oil this weekend, so I'll change the pressure sensor as well if needed.
@BarboursAutoHelp2 жыл бұрын
Why do you think you have a problem?
@somanynamesilltrythis01802 жыл бұрын
@@BarboursAutoHelp it doesn't seem right, maybe a little high. At idle it sits around the middle of the gauge, going down the highway at 70mph, it's around the 3/4 mark.
@BarboursAutoHelp2 жыл бұрын
I'd say if your oil pressure is in the half to 3/4 range on your instrument cluster your ok. It's should move a bit depending on engine RPM. However, if you want to be 100% everything is ok then take a manual pressure reading with a gage, a hand held gage, and compare values to your manual. If your not sure how to do that properly then I'd get a trained tech to do it for you. Sounds like you're ok though.
@somanynamesilltrythis01802 жыл бұрын
@@BarboursAutoHelp ok I'll do that. Thank you.
