Sweating it out in 100 degree heat here in AZ, after an hour messing with this 1 sensor, I gave up. Cooled off and got some lemonade, watched this video, cried a little and turned into 15 min job. Thanks a bunch.

Add me to the list!! This was the most important part of replacing the sensor... No one else gave this very important information. In totality you have probably saved all of us over a hundred thousand dollars... This is no joke... and on a side note... I bent a tiny fishing hook and used it on a fishing line to get the screen out and it took two seconds... Once again, you are our hero in this video!!

I have owned various vehicles but back in the day, I don't recall such an idiotic place and hassle to R&R a sending unit or sensor as I did 3/4/2022 on my 2009 Chevy Avalanche. Granted I/we have taken off various clip type plugs in our past but what a freaking hassle it was to not just get to the sensor but to get the Blankeyt-blank connector off. Some users indicate removing the white clip to dislodge the connector. Others don't say how to do it short of squeezing but I literally modified the plastic in front of the sensor to see the sensor by removing material. The white clip was visible and removing it was done a half dozen times before I came inside and found your video. Bless your heart and a boon to the community for showing what you did. I will add though...in the end I had removed the white clip and left if off for tightening down the new sensor did not align as the prior one for easier access to the clip. The socket still clips in to place and will debate whether it'll dislodge or not. I or someone else can easily work on the sensor now and hopefully I can pass along similar info. Again, thanks!

Just changed mine this morning on my 2013 Sierra. I didn’t remove any hoses or anything and was able to do the job. Took everything I had to push the tab to release the connector while simultaneously push up on the bottom of the connect with a long screwdriver. Then I busted the old sensor up when my socket twisted on me. You need one universal joint and a long cheater bar for your ratchet and try to keep the socket from twisting on you. Do NOT forget to replace your filter/screen while you’re doing all this. It’s only a few bucks extra
@demonlust755 жыл бұрын
life savers you guys are!.. i used a dental tool from walmart to get the filter out. worked perfect! the hardest part was getting the connector off.. just remember to squeeze the top to release after you pull the the guard up., there’s a video on the connector in the same search results :)
@Mizman765 жыл бұрын
A 3/8" lag scew or bolt in like 4-6" length works as well. Stick down in the hole where sensor was give it a half turn or so to engage the plastic frame of filter and pull right out!

Philip gets LEGENDARY status....I liked, and appreciate all the videos on this from other posts...but........The hardest part of the job, is the 2 step clip removal....not the sockets, or hoses.........Thank You, I spent an hour or so working through this. I didnt want to break a clip. I had the Grey "Safety Clip" pulled and did not know if I should squeeze the blue clip? Im ready to do the deal, after this post. Thank you Sir...

Thank you!!! Like most connectors, if you can see how they work they are easy to take apart. In the case of the 6.0 Escalade sight and ability to reach the connector is VERY limited. Your video will be a tremendous help. Thank you again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your troubles. I wish to make some additional comments. I used a couple of Hook picks in order to lift the clip and gently remove the clip from the connector. It takes some long and short picks to do this and lots of patents. Especially in such a small tight space. This is what worked for me and I hope this can help you as well. Good luck. Patients is the key.
@thumper300zx4 жыл бұрын
This was the most frustrating part of the job. Luckily I gave up after 10 minutes and found this video. Then another 10 minutes I was good. The clip points were visible through the holes in my vantage point. As a note, after torquing down the new sensor, it was flipped about 180. I can't only imagine the hell the next one will be.
