You should have a wear-on mullet in behind your cap for mid '80s videos. That might not be a serious suggestion, merely a fun thought.

Wayne Gretzky also scored his next 1000 points faster than anyone else in NHL history got to their 1st 1000. Of course we know, no NHL player even has a 2nd 1000 points scored.

Still would love to see a bio of Pelle Lindbergh because all I remember of him was that trophy winning season and suddenly he's dead. More recently became acutely aware of how he helped the Swedes to bronze during the 1980 Olympics.

"If Gretzky only wouldn't have scored any goals at all this season I could have tied him in the scoring race." - Jari Kurri "I'm going to win it clear next season even if you take away all of my goals." - Wayne Gretzky

What about the 1988 Edmonton Oilers that only lost 2 games during the playoffs? 4-1 vs Winnipeg 4-0 vs. Calgary 4-1 vs. Detroit 4-0* vs. Boston (5 games were played as the Game 4 at Boston Gardens was suspended because of power failure in the 2nd period with the score tied 3-3) The official & competed Game 4 took place in Edmonton

I didn't think anyone would beat the Flyers that year. They were dominant all year long. When Dave Poulin scored that shorthanded goal on a 5 on 3 against Quebec, I thought that was the sign of things to come then to win game 1 of the finals, I thought it was over. I was right but not what I thought.

I agree. I remember that time as a young 20 year old kid. He was an amazing goaltender, and I liked him, even as a die hard North Stars fan. I believe he could have easily been a hall of Famer, with perhaps a cup somewhere in the mix, weather with the Flyers or some other team. One wrong decision and history is changed forever. A damn shame.

Another day, another loss in the Finals. But when you lose the Final, there's always next year to come back and fight again. And when you lose a person - you can't replay life. We remember you, Pelle.

As a swede im curoius if you think that Pelle Lindbergh could have been one of the greatest ever or if this season would have been more of a one hit wonder?
@Jelsick6 жыл бұрын
That's a hard question. There have been many flash in the pan goalies over the years. I, however believe he would have had a stellar career, with a Hall of Fame nod not out of the question. Again it's hard to know because of a promising and bright future cut so tragically short. Sweden has had many excellent players over the years. As a Swede you should be proud of that.

@@Jelsick and proud i am so:) have been thinking of it a lot lately and especially when THG came closer to 1985. I personally think he would have been at least among the greatest of the decade and of his way of playing
