@@xSG199x As bad as they were, I'm not convinced they were tanking for the purpose of getting the highest pick possible. I think there is more or less a consensus among Oilers fans and pundits that the team's performance at the time was due to poor management decisions and the interference of ownership. Regardless, any preponderance of first overall picks are hardly the fault of the city or the fans who only want to see the team do well. And as above, you would be hard-pressed to find an Oilers fan who does not loath the Nurse contract, which is also due to a bad decision of management. What are the fans supposed to do about it? Nothing can make it better. Bitching about it incessantly certainly won't help.
