I use Aloe Vera and Castile Soap when washing my locs. I use water and oils such as Moroccan or lemongrass. You are giving Gems 💎 indeed. Thank you for pointing this out and yes you are right about maintain these styles can give the hair trauma. ❤

Wow! You are speaking my language! I just got my hair microloced a week ago and my stylist didn't really give me any recommendations for maintenance - but she quickly booked me for my retie in 6 weeks 🙃 She was so heavy handed with my install and I regret not saying anything to her. I know my scalp will not be recovered by 6 weeks. My hair has always thrived when I have taken control of maintaining it myself. I am so glad I found you to help me on my journey❤️

@erica hey sis. I transferred consultants when I relocated and she was a one and done for me! After my first (and last) retie with her, it felt like she tried to snatch my soul out😢 I had to go home and take pain meds and lay down. This is extreme I know but reties shouldn’t be too tight too the scalp! Yes please see Tunisia’s video and I hope you have an amazing hair journey❤

Thanks so much for your channel and all that you do!! I am one year loc’d and I was instructed to detangle as much as I can to separate marrying hairs from my locs and if I have a stubborn one that won’t separate, to just cut it away as far away as possible from the loc that I think it’s originating from. I’ve only been listening to you for a short time but I’ve learned from you that that is not good. How do a separate marrying hairs from my locs that are just stubborn to remove even after I have applied oil?

Hello Beautiful! Youve given me an excellent idea for a video. Thank you very much! There are likely an infinite of suggestions that go beyond my knowledge. At a fundamental level, I would say, keep an eye on your hair and be preventive. This requires vigilance at critical junctures in between retis. When swimming, sweating, long bathing, spending in saunas, and the like, we have to preplan and anticipate tangling depending how far removed me may be from relocking or retightenings. You need to detangle on the front end and the back end. You may need to braid hair into plaits prior to certain activities. Determine what detanglers work best for you, oil or water or both. Add additional detangling essential oils such as chamomile and rose oil. There are many more. Give those detanglers TIME to work prior to prying hairs loose. I have been able to (when patient and gentle) pry hairs apart that were longer than 2 inches because my hair was more pliable and the kevel of elasticity was at a healthy level. I could not believe this, as I used to (in haste) rush and pull apart-- even though my hair screwed at me and punished me for it! Textures, density, porosity, etc can impact all of this. However, the better hydrated YOU and YOUR HAIR are, the easier a time you will have. Your default hair condition should not be dry, brittle and easy to break. This is whh you must always ensure your hair has moisture and oil. It needs #mylocswannaslide SLIDE and an environment conducive to more freedom of movement. There's so much to discuss here in so little time. Be on the lookout for a video. Make sure your notifications are turned on. NAMASTE.💯❤️😇

Yeah. That color is an addictive HAzard. You must oil to neutralize the damaging impact of it! I feel ya. I lost many a loc length over 6 inches in total due to my obsession with color. LOL. The oil has helped tremendously.

It been 1 year and 6 month my Locs are dry they never told me when I can oil my hair scalp so I’m trying to find out what type of oil I can use on my scalp.
