I saw Oingo Boingo twice in 1982 at the Reseda Country Club. A good memory.

I was actually at this performance. I wasn't one of the paid regular dancers yet I was there for tapings on a regular basis. On one side of the soundstage was the dance floor then just swing the cameras 180° and the performance stage was at the opposite end. It was this nondescript building in Burbank right next to the I-5. "Live" performances were actually lip-synced, Oingo Boingo included, but the volume and the energy made it feel like a live performance. Both Danny Elfman and Johnny Vatos were cool, gracious and signed autographs after. Great memories!

I like it 5000 times. Boingo shows were some of the happiest moments of my life. My ex wife, Linda worked for the Secret Society. She got us back stage. I met Danny’s parents, Milton and Blossom. Also, I met Bill Walton. Total surprise!

I remember watching this live on TV when I was 15. MV3 was on in the afternoon and I could watch it when I got home from school. Long time Boingo fan. So many shows.. Saw the finale at Universal Amphitheater. That's when my life peaked...It's been all downhill from there... But, Boingo brings out the fondest memories.

I remember seeing it live as well - I was 24, and they were the best damn band I'd ever seen & herd! Their music truly had an effect on my life!

Danny Elfman was never better than when he was with Oingo Boingo, and he never will be able to replicate the charge Oingo Boingo gave us kids. Oh how I miss their music and irreverent lyrics. Danny, please give us a second farewell tour.

This TV performance was my very first taste of Oingo Boingo. Probably their best LP overall as well.

Steve Bartek playing an exceptionally rare guitar during Nothing To Fear--that's a J.B. Player Mercury. This one, black with a maple fingerboard, is only the sixth example I can personally confirm exists.

Thank you for the upload! The bass is so strong in this! Love Danny looking like the guitar is electrocuting him, and Vatos is so cute smiling at the camera!

dude, Vatos always seemed to make an effort to smile on camera. it makes me happy =]

Thank you for posting this. This was my introduction to Oingo Boingo at age 11 in 1983. I’ve been a lifetime fan ever since. I used to have a vhs recording of this that I recorded live on air when it was first aired. Someone borrowed it in the late 80s and I’ve poked around looking for it ever since. Too bad they weren’t playing live but still a great performance. Thanks for the good memory!

Not sure why Kerry Hatch left the band but the early Boingo with his bass playing is the best.
