Wow, thank you! I`m especially proud of the sound. I worked on traditional 16mm mag film, 8 separate tracks. I could only hear three tracks at a time on the Steenbeck (two with image) so I had to know what I was doing. I had Chris Hinton as a teacher and mentor, who was nominated for an oscar just the year before. He taught me to keep my drawings simple and focus on timing and movement instead.
@aldiakaroofus16 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It took months of storyboarding and animating 1400 drawings (plus the 500+ drawings unused), 50 hours of sound editing (not including the actual recording job) and a whole night shooting on 16mm film one frame at a time.

XD. I saw this short on the "100% Independent" video, and it was by far my favorite short in the collection, even more than the Oscar nominated film by Michael Mills. It was delightfully ironic and cruelly hilarious. Thanks for posting, and kudos to a fine job.

Thanks! I liked that gag too! Although sound was lots of work the old fashioned way (16mm magnetic film spliced onto 8 or 9 separate tracks), I did use the school's QAR to line-test my animation, so that kinda counts like computer assistance. It really helped and was much easier to use than the antique Lyon-Lamb frame-by-frame VHS they also had.

@lastgarlicfinger I never thought of a specific audience when I made the film. The CBC was the only potential customer to reject it for those reasons. Italy also rejected it becuase they were offended by the "O Sole Mio" bit.

I like to imagine or think that this isn’t the farmers first rodeo and knew this will happen and so with his money won via the fair for the biggest pig he buys a new farm and animals and intentionally have the achievements front and center that another pig (potentially one scared pig and along another pig without a care in the world aside from food) and so the cycle repeats.
