I def like the build! Ojer Axonil is my fav commander from the new set for sure. I kinda went all in on the "make Ojer big, cast cheap burn spells to the dome" strat. Some stuff I love that's def helped deal big damage is stuff like Lava Dart, Scorch Spitter, Gut Shot and those cool Kessig Flamebreather-like cards like Firebrand Archer, Electrostatic Field, Blisterspit Gremlin and Erebor Flamesmith that in a way, almost work like clones of the Ojer when it's out. It's def fun having Ojer with two of them. Playing like even a Blood Lust on Ojer can have all your 1cc burn count for 24 damage each. You can take out a whole table quick with stuff like Voldaren Epicure and End The Festivities.

I was running this with Torbran at the helm. Axonil raises the floor and is a solid alternative that I'm testing. He drops off the top unfortunately but playing so much punishment burn & the tap pingers are so strong. 😂

Great video, man! I dont play cEDH, but this was really helpful to see your general thought process, and it also showed me how I can take better advantage of Scryfall.

awesome brew, and really nice to see how much fun you had making this. would be awesome to hear how it played out once ojer released

I’ll definitely update. I haven’t been this excited for a deck in a while. I’ve already made a handful of changes since this video that I think are big improvements.

Exactly how I built it

The one card that confuses me here is the Javelin of Lightning since it only pumps the creature on your own turn. I was expecting you to notice that at some point and remove it but you never did. Other than that I really like the thought that went into everything here. I'm not playing cEDH but I do try to avoid a lot of the common traps so many players fall into when deckbuilding, so seeing a more serious look into how to make the deck not immediately lose to interaction is nice.

I misread the card, you are totally right. It straight sucks. it’s out of the deck

Put in auntie blyte its a pay off for yourself being damaged, she will be a big beater in no time and ancient runes it punishes for having heavy artifacts

Adding a note ~ When you were reading his land side you said "noncombat damage to an opponent". The card does not say "to an opponent", so my understanding is that you can do the 4 damage necessary to flip him by damaging yourself with your own burn stax pieces. So something like mana barbs and 4 lands is enough to flip him

Oh wow, I never realized that. That is fantastic actually and makes having more sac outlets to keep him from getting exiled even more relevant.

How about Sulfuric Vortex instead of Maddening Hex? Almost like Roiling Vortex, which is already in there. I also think Pyrohemia is insane here since you can activate it on every turn.

Boggles my mind that people will brew this (amazing brew btw), but I never see ghyrson being brewed/played

it’s incredibly easy to make your pinging effects deal 6-8 with axonil tho
@rangodash9 ай бұрын
@@gryffinsyme6357 Definitely true, I took like 20 in a turn last night from my friend on Ojer. BUT, is that worth losing blue? Is it worth paying an extra mana and not having the stickiness of ward 2? Most importantly, ghyrson can turn your pings into draws SO easily. I just don’t see a world where Ojer is practically better

I have been tempted to add From the Ashes and/or Ruination.
